First time at this location for brunch. A group of 4 with an hour wait was a tad bit tough since reservations can’t be made, but It’s a vibe and the wait is worth it. The menu options are plenty, BYOB, but also interesting drink options to choose from when it comes to coffee, teas, juices, etc. One of the menu items was sold out by the time we were seated. Which was a bummer since two out of the 4 of us wanted the meal. Our waitress Kait was very attentive, by checking in several times and assuring that our bottles remained chilled and cups filled. Our server Gabriella was fantastic! She was warm, friendly, professional, and efficient. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious! I had the Chicken Scoop, which consisted of a fried chicken breast on a tender waffle, topped with a sunny-side-up egg and amazing bacon jam, accompanied by a side of berries. My husband ordered the Farmers Platter, while my daughter enjoyed the Lox Benedict. The coffee and cappuccino were also delightful! Hatch44 Cafe is a quaint establishment with delicious brunch-style cuisine. They have quite a large menu with plenty of great selections that can accommodate all dietary needs. I ordered the chicken scoop, which was fried chicken over a Belgian waffle with delicious bacon jam, maple mustard syrup, and a sunny side egg. It blended together very well and was delectable. The ambiance and interior design was also quite pleasant and inviting. The only issue was that the food took so long to come out. Our waitress was very friendly and all, but the immense wait for the food was very frustrating. I’ve ordered online from Hatch 44 many times, but went in person 1st time yesterday with my kid. We ordered the veggie omelette with coffee for me and cheese toast with strawberry lemonade for the kid. The food was good, but have 2 small complaints the lemonade (ordering for the 1st time) was too sour and the bread used in cheese toast (children’s menu) is little hard for little ones. A big for our waitress, she was amazing and polite. Never pushed to ordered fast or hover over us to eat fast. She periodically checked on us and yet ensured we were comfortable. This place is located comfortably in downtown Metuchen with ample street parking (in nearby streets).
The Birria Grilled Cheese is an absolutely brilliant creation—every bite is incredibly delicious! If you’re a coffee enthusiast like I am, the Coffee Cream Toast is simply extraordinary. This is a fantastic spot for brunch dates, girls' outings, celebrations, and more! Our waitress Jasmine was so kind and attentive; she suggested some amazing dishes and took care of us with such grace. I also had the pleasure of meeting Andrea, the owner, who was delightful and shared interesting insights about the business. I can’t wait to return!
Highly recommend! Will return! The fiesta scramble bowl was delicious, potato base mixed with a not overdone cheese and veggies with a hint of spice.. DELICIOUS! The coffee was really yummy. Parfait was sweet, light and big enough to share. Most meals are large enough to share, love that to taste a bit of everything and service by Daniel was great, attentive, helpful, and positive thank you hatch 44 also place super chic loved the decor!
The service and ambiance are truly delightful—warm and inviting. I've been a regular at this restaurant for a couple of years. This was our second visit to their new location in Metuchen, and we noticed that the taste of the food has slightly declined. While the quality remains high, the flavors no longer deliver the same impact as they once did.
Just amazing..... food, ambience, service...all top notch. Lots of Vegetarian n vegan options which are rare to find specially in breakfast. Prices are very reasonable. Our server, Daniel D, is an amazing host. Helped us with food n reservations. People like him makes the visit worthwhile.
Amazing all around! The food was delicious and I would highly recommend the chicken and waffles! The staff was also absolutely amazing and despite it being an incredibly busy day, they were friendly and attentive. We drove an hour to get there and we would happily make the drive again
