Went for a Sunday Carvery. Waited for some time before we were actually allowed up for our food. Gentleman carving the meat we all felt was rather rude and gruff and could do with laundering his T shirt, perhaps find one that would cover his exposed belly and rear and wear a chef shirt large enough to also cover exposed skin. There were only two Yorkshire puddings to feed our large table until after we were sat and had started eating. We asked for Horseradish to go with our roast beef and were told there was none, only to see the chef serve himself some from a jar after we had eaten. I was going to leave a review on your Facebook page but for some reason I cannot work out how to do it. But honestly the carvery I had today was absolutely amazing and I used to work in a carvery for many years. The service was also spectacular, seated as soon as we arrived, drinks came very quickly, was told to wait for the restock of carvery which I find very good! (No one wants to only see a tiny bit of veggies in a dish on the deck) didn't wait too long either. Was definitely worth the wait! A massive choice of meats and vegetables which for me was out of this world. All meats were cooked to perfection, simply lent my fork on the meat and it fell apart all veg was very tasty too. All in all the Sunday Carvery was a reasonably priced and tasty meal BUT, as we had experienced previously, the management performance seriously lets the place down. We saw that there were insufficient Yorkshire Puddings for our party. Replenishment took too long to appear at the pass (especially as we had pre-booked our table so they had known how many there would be to feed . We asked for Horseradish Sauce to accompany the roast beef and were told several minutes later that there was none (Later the Head Chef was seen serving up his own meal and helping himself to a sizeable portion if said sauce from a jar! . Visited here for meal before boarding ferry, It was out of the way but worth a visit , I had attempted to prebook as it was Sunday carvery but booking hadn’t gone through , however the very helpful friendly staff fitted us in . The food was delicious and obviously home cooked a varied choice for a buffet and reasonably priced . Parts of the place were a little tired but wouldn’t hesitate in returning especially for Sunday buffet . We moved to Hedon in 2021 and have had drinks in the beer garden a few times, really lovely. We decided to book for the Sunday carvery and it was absolutely amazing. The meats were so tender and the vegetables were very good too, lots of choice available. The members of staff and the Landlord were very welcoming and the room were the carvery is served is really nice. It’s also very reasonably priced. We will definitely visit again and have no hesitation in recommending the Haven Arms.
The Haven Arms hosted a perfect birthday party for my Auntie’s 80th. The staff were so accommodating and let us decorate the room. The servers were very polite. The Carvery was delicious with such an excellent choice of meats and different vegetables and the roasties were amazing. The chef was really friendly too. Definitely recommend.
We held my daughters 30th birthday party here at the weekend. Mark Alison were the most accommodating hosts. The party room looked lovely, fit for a Princess. The buffet was delicious and there was loads of choice and plenty of food. We had a fantastic evening and my daughter said she had the best birthday ever!
We regularly eat here for our Sunday Roast and as usual food was beautiful, great food options including desserts to chose from, staff lovely and accommodating and of course the beer excellent quality. Can totally recommend. Well done guys, see you next week! Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
We go here for a meal quite often on a Sunday, The the food is delicious, the choice of meat vegetables is far greater than any other carvery I have previously been to. Staff always friendly, welcoming efficient. Really can recommend , Very good value.
