Overall, this is a great place for Hawaiian food. I actually prefer it to L&L, as the flavors and variety are better here. This location has been a staple in South Pasadena for a long time, and I've visited it frequently. The owners are friendly, and I especially enjoy the spicy beef. The macaroni salad is delicious, although it has a bit too much mayo for my taste. My only criticism is that I would rather have cooked cabbage instead of raw shredded cabbage. However, if you're looking for quick, grilled, and relatively healthy food, this is a solid choice.
I happened to be nearby, so I decided to walk over to this Hawaiian BBQ place. It turned out to be a great choice! I ordered the BBQ combo, which included short ribs, BBQ chicken, and BBQ beef, along with macaroni salad and rice. The short ribs were outstanding—perfectly seasoned. The BBQ beef and chicken were also excellent, and the macaroni salad complemented the meal very well. I also tried the spam musubi and BBQ chicken musubi, which were both solid, and I opted for easy rice. I would definitely return to explore their other menu items.
Wish I was more of a fan. The food is less than mediocre at best. I live right up the street and the old version, when I first moved to the area, was so much better. I'd rather drive to the Hawai'ian place in Pasadena on Colorado just eat of Allen Ave.

Ordered the katsu curry and asked if she could make it a little bit spicier than normal. They obliged and I had one of the tastiest curries I've had in a while. Super friendly and will come again
The staff was friendly, the food was delicious, and the prices were very reasonable. Everything was cooked to perfection—especially the rice, which was just right!
Better than L&L's and Ono. The Mac salad is amazing, rice is perfect, musubis taste fantastic and the Katsu was perfect. My new favorite Hawaiian food spot.
The spam musbi is so good and they are very fast about it. They are so nice and welcoming. Their tai tea is so good. Shout out to my homie Sue and Paul

10/10 would recommend, food is fresh, customer service is great, it’s a warm and welcoming mom and pop shop very humble workers.
Good portions! The mac salad is tasty and so is the kalua pork with cabbage. Will be coming here again soon
