The service and atmosphere is absolutely unique and outstanding. It is almost like a tourist attraction and worth returning to just for the sake of physically being there. Here are the top things that I enjoyed the most and it's worth writing home for: 1. Burnt Ends and Brisket Smokey, flavorful, rich and downright delicious 2. Lemonade I mean it was great. 3. Pork Belly Burnt Ends very rich and unique!! We also had the ribs (not seasoned well only a strong pork taste, no smoke flavor either), egg potato salad (no seasoning and heavy mayo flavor), coleslaw (this was alright), and tater tots.
Happened to be in the area around lunchtime and scored a new favorite BBQ place that hadn't been on my radar. Amazing burnt ends, fantastic BBQ beans, and I love a place with fried okra. Sit down restaurant, no ordering from a counter like a lot of BBQ places, but also doesn't put on airs. Just your old fashioned hometown restaurant style environment, and has a large patio area for the nicer days. I saw someone with a dog in the patio area, but may have been service dog so you might ask about bringing yours to sit outside.
The BURNT ENDS plate please OH they have really good pulled pork too and the ribs are always good but it's KC spicy sauce on BURNT ENDS they do this best and it doesn't matter HOW YOU GET THEM they have platter and sampler platters where you get some of everything. And the prices are AVERAGE they have a full bar and drink specials if that's your thing
I was there on 5/17/24. I ordered burnt ends. Some were dried out and chewy like jerky. The rest of the food was good. Waitstaff was excellent. Manager didn't want to talk to guests. I find that particularly annoying, whether it's good or bad, a manager should make time to speak with a table when asked. Not impressed with him at all. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
All of my three meat platter was dry couldn’t eat the chicken, entirely dry through and through. Would I come back doubtful, don’t even think I could recommend the place. Beans weren’t bad.
I can't believe I've never been here before! Right up there in my top 5 KC BBQ spots for sure. The service was amazing as well and really liked the atmosphere.
Burnt end plate is delicious. Traveled from Independence Missouri to try the food and it was worth the effort! The flavors burst out of the food here!
Take out burnt ends, ham and beans. Excellent BBQ! Only complaint is the tiny sauce containers. I didn't get near enough sauce for this order. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
The food and service is as it was before Hayward sold it... really really close, anyway. I am glad I saw it and gave them another shot.
