We are at the restaurant as I write. Service was simple decor is eclectic. None of that matters. We are seated for the brunch. I ordered them devoured the quiche. Pastry was fantastic and the blend of the ingredients was amazing with roast potatoes and small salad and fruit. I wasn't even hungry and I cleaned off my plate. This was 15.00 and well worth it. My wife had the soup and scone both fantastic again and at 10.00 a real deal. Would recommend reservations. It's rare to find a good restaurant in a town of greasy spoons. This is a great restaurant in a town full of mediocre dining. If you are in almonte and get the chance make sure you you get into this must eat here restaurant. For two...
This restaurant has incredibly good food. I enjoyed the best salad of my life today....a warm beet salad with goat cheese. I've ow been several times over the last couple of years and I have never been disappointed. The prices are the same as second rate pubs and cookie cutter franchises but you simply cannot compare the quality and unique qualities of this very charming restaurant. The service is good....if you get James as your server he is truly delightful. I hope the owners realize what a gem they have.I can't wait to come back....
This was the second time I had eaten here and both experiences were great. Nice atmosphere in an old, redeveloped space in downtown Almonte. But it is the food and the service that I enjoy. I had a curried chicken salad, topped with grapes, on a croissant. My friend had the warm beet salad with goat cheese. And the soup of the day was perfect!Our server, Rick, was professional, smiled, and knew the menu when asked. And he was so busy I was prepared to cut him some slack. He didn't need it.
Decided to have a lunch today while strolling through Almonte. Had the pizza with BBQ beef brisket and mac and cheese. Our waiter, James, was attentive and provided excellent suggestions. He inquired about any allergies and meals could be adjusted accordingly. We also had the blueberry cheesecake dessert as well as an espresso. Lamb so tender and succulent, with light red wine, and scrumptious Polenta. Fresh snow pea sprouts, as fresh as fall dew. This is an experience outclassed by very few.My cousins from Florida visited 3 times in 2 days, that is how brilliantly delicious their ever changing menu is.A true gem, worth a try.
Food was served promptly, staff was curtious and the plates were pleasing to the eyes as well as the stomach. The short rib roast was devine as well as the halibut which were both cooked perfectly and were delicious.
We enjoyed everything about our evening out. From drinks to desert and everything in between. Service was extraordinary and food was out of this world. Highly recommended.
