We went for Sunday lunch… we have always known the portion sizes to be mean, however the food in the past has been lovely. I ordered a fish dish .. £14.95.. 6 tiny half’s of new potato, 4 /5 cherry toms, Supposed to be on a bed of green beans … eight pieces.. beans chopped in half.. so 4 green beans chopped down the middle.. says in sauce .. but should say in broth… watery but tasty. Disappointing… On being asked if all was ok … I said this was a bit mean… Our comments (we did not complain) Where delt with charm and professionalism… On the whole a bit of a pixx take for 15 quid. Very happy how things were delt with… sweets taken off the price … we did not ask for this … Wish I had taken a ph...
The afternoon tea at this restaurant is good, but the service is extremely slow. We waited approximately 20 minutes to place our order, even though our afternoon tea had been pre-booked. We also had two guests who ordered from the main menu. It took about 40 minutes for our drinks to arrive after we had ordered. However, once the food did arrive, it was delicious. The speed of service seems to depend on which staff members are working, with one particular employee being very efficient. Overall, I enjoy the food and atmosphere of the restaurant, but the service can be quite slow at times.
fabulous, imaginative menu and first class service. we enjoyed our first visit to the stables. we had rather unusual dishes, as the menu was read well and we wanted to see if eating corresponds to our high expectations. that did it. will soon try again the delicious lunch menu! thank you, Stables staff.
I recently had lunch at The Stables for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were friendly and courteous. The portions were a bit small, but the food was delicious and well-cooked. The unique setting in a stable house added to the experience, and it was cozy and warm on a fall day.
