Hibino is such a charming spot in Greenpoint, set in a beautifully scenic area. The restaurant is small but impeccably clean, with a wonderful ambiance. The food was absolutely incredible. I love how Japanese cuisine offers perfectly balanced portions. Every dish was expertly prepared and delicious. They seem to change their obanzai daily, following the tradition of using ingredients—mainly vegetables or seafood—that might otherwise be discarded. We chose the Beef Tendon curry, which was incredibly tender and packed with rich umami flavors, along with the Japanese potato salad. Everything was awesome. One of my favorites from the menu was the shira-ae. Basically blanched green veggies with a bit of salt and a tofu sauce. The tofu sauce was delicious, and different than any tofu I had ever experience. This dish was very mild andnuanced, and you could really just sink into the flavors. The agedashi tofu was also excellent. “Hibino” as I understand,means “daily.” As in the ingredients are prepared daily, and I will attest that everything tasted fresh. Celebrating my sister’s birthday on a Friday night at Hibino was perfect. Despite their limited seating, they were incredibly accommodating when I mentioned I had two toddlers with me. The fish literally melted in my mouth, and the rice was just as delightful. The special small dishes are definitely worth trying, and the sake is a must-have, especially at such a reasonable price. They even refrigerated our cake and lit the candles for us—all without adding a service charge.
The miso salmon was perfect, and the server was super friendly! I also recommend their soybean pudding! Really enjoy my time there, excellent vibe, food, and services. Have been to the LIC branch before, and the service was not nice, I feel the LIC one was short of staff, only 2 staffs there and the attitude was Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Cute and quaint sushi restaurant in Cobble Hill. Pretty extensive menu. Had the spicy scallop and tuna rolls and the seared tuna tataki salad was delicious (tuna was perfectly pan seared). The recommended sake was also very good. Inexpensive and very decentportions for the price.
Amazing sushi and an outstanding ambiance. We tried the tuna special roll, salmon avocado roll, and a spicy tuna roll topped with fish roe. Everything was a perfect 10/10 and the portions were just right for the two of us.
Wonderful restaurant. After living in Japan, I come here when I get longing for authentic Japanese cuisine. Nostalgic but contemporary comfort food. Never disappoints.

Got sushi takeout here and it was delicious. Two rolls and tuna tataki. The interior looks nice we will probably return for dine in.
Amazing sushi restaurant. Great value. Delicious specials menu on a chalkboard. And super cozy environment and vibe. Love Hibino!
