We visited last night and had the seven course tasting menu with wine flight. The service was outstanding- really faultless, and all of the waiting staff were friendly and knowledgable about the menu. I think they are all a credit to hibiscus. So onto the food. The cocktails we started with were great, very tasty and a great way to start the evening. The food however, though good, with some dishes excellent, was a little below expectations. I was surprised that much of the menu seemed pre-pared and not cooked on site. There for the seven course tasting menu and could not fault one course. Keeping it simple given it was the same for the four of us, it kicked off with Gazpacho, then crab ravioli, then rabbit 'cigar ', Mackerel my favourite of the night), Duck, strawberry meringue and finally a caramelised puff pastry. A decent red and white wine helped things along nicely. I would have starred it 5 but there was one draw back, well fairly major, in that it took an awful long time to get through the courses. This is one of my top choices for fine dining in Northampton. The food is consistently well-planned and beautifully presented. The wine pairings are spot-on. The staff is helpful and welcoming. They always accommodate dietary needs. My only suggestion would be to include more carbohydrates, such as a potato side dish, with the main course.
The food was outstanding and the wine selection was top-notch. The servers were attentive, timed everything perfectly, and were knowledgeable about the menu and the wine list. Delightful evening enjoying The Taster Menu accompanied with matching wines to each course. Every single course was amazing, with hidden delights awakening our taste buds. It was the first night of a new menu and I recommend all to not hesitate and experience this wonderful menu along with superb service.
Hibiscus is a hidden gem in Northampton. The service was great and the food was incredible. The 7 course tasting menu was outstanding. To improve I would recomend better signposting. If you have yet to visit delapre abbey it can get confusing. Overall excellent evening and we will be returning.
The food and service were fantastic. The partridge and trout were excellent, and the toffee apple dessert and chocolate tart were outstanding. The wine selection was good, and the service was attentive and charming. Overall, a superb meal and experience.
