As my wife and I were eating lunch yesterday I had to wonder what would lead someone to take up the tall order of starting a restaurant to serve mediocre bbq. Did they have a couple backyard bbqs at home and someone told them they should start a restaurant? I wonder if they use to care about the food they put out? The male cashier was pleasant in attitude but made it uncomfortable for us to decide what we wanted. We were the only people in there and he just was front and center staring at us as we discussed our options. The Pulled Chicken was tender and had good flavor, the pulled pork and brisket had good flavor but were very dry. Good Fries, good Coleslaw, fair Mac and Cheese. This restaurant closes at 8pm. I got the 3 meat combo (ribs, pork and brisket) and it’s tough to say which meat was worse.The brisket was literally not edible, the fat wasn’t rendered at all, and it was impossible to even bite a piece off. JUST ADD SEASONING I discovered this place on door dash. I was a little worried at first because I was for sure that the good would be cold when it arrived giving the distance. It actually arrived hot.I was really surprised at the amount of food given, my only disappointment is there is no other flavor other than smoke. Was in the area and it was lunch time so why not give them a try. I ordered the 3 ribs and fries one side. Ribs were cold and not much meat or flavor. Maybe if they were warmer they would have some flavor. Beans tasted like store bought and jazzed up in house. Fries were ok. The restaurant was very clean but they were out of soap in the men's room. Should be minus 1/2 star for that.
Corn bread was delicious but everything else was cold,the beans cold and lacked flavor,the beef brisket was nothing but fat and cold,the chicken was o.k. But cold and the rib tips were disgusting and cold,food was as if it had been sitting out for days ,the building was nice and customer service was o.k. Additionally, I found old meat scraps in the baked beans, which was quite off-putting. Overall, this place felt gross, and it offers low-quality barbecue at full price plus a premium. My advice is to avoid Hickory Hog altogether.

The staff and the good was amazing! What more could anyone need? Plus they were not busy, unlike other places nearby. ?
