Thanks to Yelp I found this welcoming Deli in Chatham. They are in a the light tan strip mall on the northern most side of Shunpike Road. (GPS was confused). The pace inside is sort of what you find in a NYC deli, busy and several people behind the counter all looking to see who they may greet and help next. The front of the deli has drinks, snacks, pasta, cookies, small but unique. I found some honey filled candies imported from Italy there. The menu on the wall may be hard to read, but they have paper take out menus and its the same. I really wanted to try everything, but over three visits I ordered the same sandwich: Turkey Off The Bone, Bacon, Tomato, Avocado, Red Onion, Gruyere Cheese,...
We used Hickory Tree for a business event today. John delivered bagels, muffins and a fruit bowl to the venue for breakfast and for lunch, we picked up. They would have delivered but it worked best for us logistically to pick up. We had a tray of assorted sloppy joe's and a tray of assorted wraps and sandwiches as well as orzo and spinach salad and a mixed salad. Everyone loved the lunch. The sloppy joes are so delicious and we were really impressed that they included chicken breast sandwiches as well as vegetarian options...not just standard lunchmeat sandwiches. John and Stephanie are super sweet and really helpful. Will definitely use again for future events.
Average experience. I ordered a pastrami sandwich with mustard, but received overcooked pastrami without mustard. The other sandwiches were just as unimpressive. They even charge a packing fee—do they think we're naive? They should just raise the prices instead of playing these games. Overall, nothing notable here; I won't be returning.
This deli is definitely worth the trip. Firstly, they offer three options for gluten-free bread, which is a rarity among delis. You must try the cranberry mayo! They have three different mayo blends, but I've only tasted the cranberry, and I love it so much that I buy extra to take home for the week. The rice pudding is also fantastic!

Super declious food!! Went here for the first time and they serve a generous amount of deli meat on your sandwhiches. The paninis are delicious and flavorful, portion sizes are great. And they have a bunch of drinks and snacks to choose from. staff is friendly! Will definitely be going back
Fantastic sandwiches and incredible take-out entrees for those busy evenings. The owners have been incredibly accommodating when we've placed large orders for school events. I really appreciate the online ordering option since teachers often have limited lunch breaks!
I have nothing but positive things to say about Hickory Tree Deli. The service is quick, the staff is extremely friendly, and the sandwiches are amazing. The value for the quality is unbeatable. As locals, we make it our regular spot at least once a week.
What happened here? Plenty of meat behind the counter. Very little on your sandwich. Try again, boys and girls. I've been coming here since the 80s. Used to love it.

They make a good Sloppy Joe But according to Joe vs Sloppy Joe on Facebook, It’s not as good as the neighboring Deli’s
Super disappointed ordered a Italian sub got a joke. I get times are tough but this is a shame.
