What a great view at Walsh Bay! My friend and I were starving so we ordered a bunch of dishes. The dishes were reasonably priced but relative small portions. I think the intention is that you order several dishes to share. All the dishes below were shared between two people. The fish was nice, a little more sauce would have been good. The figs were the highlight for me. The beetroot was nice and the mulloway was well cooked. I'd definitely come back and live it up. came for the Vortheater dinner, we ordered some cocktails, oysters, scallops, mushroom dish, thunfisch on betel leaf, calamari dish and desserts. I have to say, all the delicious tapas foods were fantastic, we shared between people and everyone loved it. you eat is simply style cooking, but it was made with fresh ingredients with beautiful taste. but I don't think they're really good to make cocktails, I think they're more of a weinbar (on their extensive wine menus) than cocktailable. my martini was not so amazing, neither as margaritas. Last night's date-night at Hickson Food and Wine was truly exceptional From the moment we arrived, we knew we'd be in good hands with our host Nick. The menu is exciting, and the wine/cocktail selection are to die for We ordered the chicken pate, scallops, pork belly and short ribs. We finished off with the brownie for dessert Each and every meal was delicious. The atmosphere in the restaurant was good, even though we were dining by ourselves for the first hour. The kitchen staff were also very friendly. Their passion and love for food clearly translated to what we were served on the plate We will definitely be coming back Thanks for a great night.
It's very rare to try a new restaurant and walk away feeling everything was perfect, but that's how I felt last night after trying Hickson's. Super friendly waitstaf and a great selection of uncomplicated and delicious food. Standout dish was the rump steak with pearl barley, baby corn and salsa rosa. I've been to hickson a few times. it is a perfect dining place for any type of event, all on the menu is absolutely delightful the staff is great, so the view is and so the setting of the restaurant is a bit higher in the price range, but nothing too much to complain. So they just go to hickson, choose a wein or two from their amazing selection, and eat, drink and be happy.
Hickson's only opened in October It has brilliant views of Walsh Bay and also of the harbour bridge in the distance. They have put together an innovative menu matched with an imaginative wine list with plenty of options from around the world. Our first dish was the baby beetroot that came with buckwheat, a generous spreading of organic sheep yoghurt and red chard.
a small wine bar on the water! the wine and spiritual list is unbelievable, only the best! the young who pay attention are professional and friendly and they can be sure that they are always looking for! when they visit them, make sure they order the cheese plate as it could be the best they have ever in sydney!

the restaurant is easy to walk from the roslyn packer theatre, is obviously experienced in gastronomy to the pre-theater crowd; we had only half an hour to show yet could enjoy a dip and coffee with everything brought out within minutes of ordering.
