Personally, I had a Jägerkuchen (which includes pork, chicken, and other ingredients), and it was outstanding—I would definitely recommend it. This was my first visit in over 15 years, and I noticed some significant changes in what was offered. I remember when they had a variety of square cakes, including a four-layered torte, which made choosing quite complicated with all the round options. Clearly, times change along with the cake selection, but the quality at Higginson remains consistently excellent.
We visited the restaurant across the street but got stuck in traffic. I had to call Grange and Higginsons after their closing time to check if they would still let us in. They said yes, and we tried a fantastic dish called bark and salt mud. I can't recommend it highly enough!
The dining experience here is exceptional, no matter what you choose. Their cakes are the best I've ever tasted, particularly the chocolate cake. You get excellent value for what you pay. They offer a top-notch selection of meat, cheese, and various other dishes.
Drove from horwich to dunsop bridge then grange on our motorcycles to try out there pies worth every mile, pies are delicious 5 star Taste is amazing. And a great ride on the bikes.
