The atmosphere of the place is pleasant, but it may not satisfy coffee or breakfast enthusiasts. It's puzzling that they source their coffee from a well-regarded roaster like Monmouth yet seem unaware of how to prepare it properly. My flat white was served in a mug, resulting in a beverage that tasted mostly of hot milk with just a hint of coffee flavor. Additionally, it's strange that a bakery had no items available on its shelves at 9 a.m. Lastly, the egg breakfast sandwich was more like egg mayonnaise rather than a traditional cooked egg—something I've never encountered before and again, quite odd. Overall, it was a rather confusing experience.
When our food finally arrived, it was staggered: one poached egg and bacon on toast came first, followed by scrambled eggs with salmon five minutes later. The scrambled eggs were bland and lacked seasoning, and the gluten-free toast was underdone, quickly turning into a soggy mess. While the staff are friendly and the venue is nice, there are clearly issues that need to be addressed. I'm not sure if we will return, but I truly hope this business can return to the high standards it once maintained.
The cake and coffee here are excellent, but be wary of the restroom situation—it’s located outside the main store area.
I overheard the staff mentioning that they only recycle boxes, and that the rest of the waste is sent to the landfill.
