My friends and I came to the restaurant for a carvery on Saturday evening. We were excited for a meal together and purchased carvery tickets. However, we were informed that there was no beef available, which we were okay with. Unfortunately, when we went to get our carvery, there was no beef, no turkey, and only a small amount of Gammon scraps. This was very disappointing, especially since it was only 7 o'clock in the evening. It was surprising to see a carvery run out of food so early in the night. The server who assisted us was very kind and helpful, despite being very busy. We have visited this place many times in the past and have always been satisfied, but this experience has us unsure...
Always loved this place. Went for breakfast only one other group group in the pub Had to wait 25 minutes for our hot drinks which I had to ask for again. Had the buffet breakfast. The toast could of broke your plate in half . I asked for some more and it came out barely even warm certainly not toasted. My wife and daughter had the Avacado on toast. That took 40 mins .I had to ask for this again aswell . He only brought one out. We had ordered two. It was that revolting we didn't bother asking for the 2nd one. Come on Hillfield sort yourselfs out.
Went for carvery, overhead the chef handing over saying to the new chef coming in ‘just re-heat the old stuffing and mix it in with the other stuffing’. Thin slices of overcooked meat…messy carvery area. It’s cheap, the veg are good quality and plentiful, I’ll give them that! The Pigs in Blankets were cremated! The remaining meat was over -cooked and some of it inedible. They’re under-staffed. I had a poorly tummy when I got home! No wonder if they’re just re-heating stuff.
We had buffet breakfast twice this week and carvery today at this restaurant. The standards were high as usual, with superb service from Mo Rosie. Victoria was also on hand to ensure things ran smoothly. There was a lovely selection of fresh meats and vegetables. This restaurant is definitely one of the best in the area.

When we arrived Sarah couldn’t find our booking Maybe that was my fault probably booked the incorrect restaurant But Sarah went above and beyond to find us a lovely table as it was so busy We had a fabulous lunch Carvery was amazing Staff were lovely too Abigail thank you to Sarah Thank you all again See you soon
Always smiling Rosie greets you as you enter. And seems to deal with everything !!! Where are management?? And staff !! BUT Rosie is always the same smiling and nothing is too much trouble !!! She deserves employee of the month .. thanks Rosie.
Yesterday, my family and I came for a Sunday roast at this restaurant without a reservation. Brooke managed to find us a table during a busy rush, and we were delighted with the quality of the food. We will definitely be returning.
We had a lovely meal. The carvery was all freshly cooked. We also had the Beef Ale pie the Farmhouse Chip shop supper which were both so tasty. Sarah who served our table was very attentive and overall a great service .

Decent breakfast, won a free slice of cake and Victoria was very polite and happy to help. All staff very friendly here been coming for years
Great food and great service from Kacey. Really enjoyed ourselves and the carvery was lovely as always
