The most amazing place in Pensacola to eat!. I have eaten at the Hip Pocket Deli at least twice a month in the 3 times I was stationed here is pensacola over the last 15 years. Every time family comes to visit, I ALWAYS take them to Hip Pocket. When they come to visit again, they always want to go back. This place is a staple of the New Warrington area and should never close! The food is amazing! The staff is the best and always wanting to have a conversaion with you, even when the line is out the door(which is most of the time). NCC(SW) (RET) Johnny A Ramsey. Been going here since 2001 and it is the best deli in Pensacola and is very military friendly with its location to the base makes it very accessible for us to get there on our lunch break. There are rumors of it having to move due the street being widened. If this is the case it needs to be closer to the base not farther away because of time constraints to get on and off the base in a timely manner for lunch. It will be a sad day if we lose the hip pocket deli all there food is awesome!!!!! It is also a must visit if you are coming to Pensacola!!!!!!
I have travelled to over 20 countries. In each location I seek out the best hole-in-the wall places to eat. I have favorites around the world and Hip Pocket is on my list. You go there for the food. Large, delicious sandwiches- try the gyros and the Reuben, my favorites. The price is extremely reasonable. The staff is a local family who engage their customers with welcoming conversation. The location is quaint and filled with memorabilia from the local community, especially the neighboring naval bases. Highly recommend.
We came all the way from Bossier City, Louisiana and made a pit stop to enjoy a meal at this restaurant. The staff was extremely friendly and the meatball sub was absolutely delicious! It was big enough to share between 2 to 4 people and undoubtedly the best meatball sub I have ever tasted. The only downside was that it wasn't Thursday, so I couldn't try the Whimpy Burger. We stumbled upon this restaurant because it caught our eye, and we were NOT disappointed! The staff was incredibly friendly and made us feel very welcome as tourists. The food was absolutely amazing. We couldn't stop taking photos (sorry about that!). We tried the Gyros, the Cuban sandwich, and the Philly, paired with Greek-spiced fries, and everything was fantastic! If we were staying in town longer, we would definitely come back!
This is by far the best sandwhich place I've found in Pensacola. Their 5 lb Meatball sub can feed my family of 3 for days! I had family in town and knew that this was a place they had to try while in town and they ABSOLUTELY loved it! Not to mention, the owner is the nicest and friendliest gentleman! I would recommend this locally owned, military supporting, delicious deli to anyone and everyone!
This restaurant serves the largest (and most delicious) calzone I have ever had. To simply say that the calzone was great would be an understatement. It was absolutely incredible and made fresh to order. My friend and I were surprised when we received a massive 5-pound calzone, filled with meat and cheese. It was truly amazing.

Great restaurant! Largest portions I've ever seen. I had the 3 lb All-American sub which I could barely finish. My friends couldn't come close to finishing the 5lb meatball sub. Highly recommend if you want large amounts of food.
