Wife and I brought three of her family members to lunch to celebrate her sister's birthday. Party of 5 and boy took care of us. Not busy what I certainly helped, the service was spectacular. The owner, from Spain, but now loves to live in Colombia, is very much a hand to owners. He helped us lead into the entry we really wanted. Seafood is all fresh NOT FROZEN. We have experienced this ourselves when the supplier brought it along when we arrived. This for Pereira is a performance in itself (the fresh non-frozen reference for seafood). Wine pairings proposed by the owner/good staff were right. This restaurant is formerly a home and has an indoor pool area that is good, very unique. Beautiful...
While in Colombia in September my family and I decided to look for good restaurants and explore. We love seafood and since it somehow hard ro find a good place I usually go through many reviews and of course always look for the best. We found Hispania Restaurant. When we arrived, we were thrilled to see the place. It's just stunning. It used to be a mansion in the days npw it is a beautiful place with ingenious food. The service was great!!! We have eaten here several times since 2015 and we have always enjoyed first rate dishes, service and ambiance. The owner justifiably takes pride in serving top quality Spanish dishes and he does not disappoint. The appetizers are superb and well worth it. Especially recommended are the salmon canapes with caviar and the boquerones (a type of Spanish sardines.) All of the Spanish seafood dishes are top notch. A great culinary experience in Pereira. Both the ambience and the menu are immaculate (I never had any more delicate beef in Colombia, and the paella is authentic). It's the perfect date point. The service was impeccable, and our waiter, Rafael, was not only a prince of a guy, but his recommendations were perfect. If you want to eat Spanish outside Spain, you want to come to such a place. Great restaurant, great appetizers, wine, paella and good service. All I had was excellent. They serve the best Paella marinera in the city. And I mentioned that the service top notch! And they also serve the best margarita in the city!!! I highly recommend it!
I am always weary when it comes to Spanish food in small town in Colombia but this place hit the spot...food was excellent, Great service and price was fair! I will be back!
