Hochmaisalm - Tisch reservieren

This is a short hike up from the town of Hinterthal or a short while down from the Gabuehel (top of the Hochmais lift, which runs on Thursdays and Saturdays during the summer). We don't appreciate the Bavarian/Tyrollean background music (we think it's too cliche) as much as others, but it's not much of a bother. The owner, who leased the space for 10 years (7 to go) is very attentive and friendly and seemed to have a good sense of humor. We Tiroler Groestl is very good and authentic and the beer comes old cold (it was 86F when we hiked up).

We drove 2 weeks in December January and the fact that we stopped here for lunch at least 5 times over this time shows how good we thought it was. Soups are delicious and also has a wide selection of other dishes. The owner was very friendly and service as a whole very friendly. We also tried the night meal last year, which was brilliant. The trip to the restaurant in the slope Basher was amazing and the food was beautiful. Despite an earlier review, the high maize DOES accept credit card payments.

The Hochmaisalm is a good place to have lunch on a ski trip trough the Skicircus. It is not the best place we have been to, but food is decent and the restaurant is cosy. one thing to remember is that they only accept cash, something we experienced more often in this region but somewhat old fashioned.

Ein sehr schönes Restaurant mit einer hervorragenden Auswahl an Gerichten und Kuchen. Die Aussicht ist fantastisch und es ist eine wunderschöne Ruhe nach einem Spaziergang auf dem Berg.

This place was so friendly and had many locals that walked here. The goulash soup was fantastic and had great chunks of meat in it, a real hearty lunch. Would definitely go again.
