It’s easily one of the best chippy in town. There’s a long queue when I came in but they served us pretty quickly. I bought haddock (haddock is in the special board) with regular chips, potato scollops, pea croquettes, mushy peas and homemade tartar sauce. I understand that fish and chips with mushy peas is the sacred combination for Brits. But after tasting them all, I’m sorry from the bottom of my heart, it needs to be said: fish and chips with homemade tartar sauce is an absolute combo. Just ordered food from this chippy and had to go straight in to the bin. I never eat from a chippy but wanted to try this place. One mouth full and made me vomit. The amount of dirty greese on the food is awful. The fish is definitely not fresh chips are soggy and vile. The curry sauce is cheep nasty powder rubbish. And to those that rave about how amazing this chippy is needs to look at yourself for putting that dirt in your body. YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT.
One of the best chippies I have been to. Love their fish and chips. Also veggie burgers and fishcakes. They are always friendly and polite. The shop is spotless. Prices and portions are decent. They do a kiddies menu too. I live virtually opposite so the temptation is great. Not good for my pocket. Or my svelte figure... If you haven't tried them yet, make sure you do so soon!

Best chippy in Lancaster. The fish is always fresh and the batter is perfect. The portions are good and the fish and chips (peas) are always hot. Great options for something a little different e.g squid, or prawns and a very good menu for children.
Best fish and chips in the north of England. Hodgsons Chippy never fails to satisfy my cravings and we order from here most Fridays. Always service with a smile from the owner and the place is spotlessly clean. A must visit for anyone in the area.
I live closer to a few other chippies but always take the longer drive to Hodgson's Chippy. Always cooked fresh to order. When you fancy the chippy, it needs to hit the mark and Hodgson's is always there, never had anything bad from here.
Absolutely ages since I’ve been to a chippy was not disappointed haddock regular chips £9.40 the freshly fried melts in your mouth, the fluffy chips were excellent.
