We went with a group of eight people. Three small potato pancakes for $12 which I thought was overpriced. My Wiener schnitzel was pounded so thin and it was dry and the German potatoes were nothing like my family who came from Germany and made German style potatoes. German potatoes at the restaurant had so much vinegar in them that we could not eat them. I ordered a side order of Spatzel And what they brought me was rubbery like they had been left over, reheated in a microwave and seen better days. I sent it back and got a new order that was freshly made and it was a little better but still tasted rubbery. One of the ladies ordered the black forest cake. What was served was a chocolate layer...
We went here for my birthday for the 1st time. We had good service and everyone enjoyed their appetizers and entree. The only thing to complain about was that we were charged $1.00 a person for asking for a plate and fork for our cheesecake that we brought in. The waitress even went to ask the manager if this was the case and it was. I felt bad for the waitress. You could tell she felt awkward telling us so we just paid it without making an issue.
Although the place is great, (as you can see it is still very new) it is lacking the atmosphere we love from other Hoffbrauhaus'. The menu is still very limited and there is no character in the place. But the most annoying is the placement...beign 25 min from St. Louis with nothing around make it very difficult to get any way bak to the city if Uber or Taxi there.
HBH St. Louis has started to return to normal after the politicized/weaponized debacle that was COVID-19… We had a great experience (food, service, cleanliness, etc. . Hoping that they return to normal soon, and get customers back in, so they can be fully open again.

I loved our Easter brunch here with the family. Great food, great service and good price. I wish they would have had some live music and maybe a Easter Egg hunt for the kids. Maybe next year. We will definitely be back again and again.
This place looked ready to close for good. no music on a Friday night, we had terrible service that took20 mins to get water and drinks. They messed up our order twice. It was all around the worst experience I have had here
Great German bar house, excellent food and beer! The oompah band that was playing was a lot of fun.
