Even though they opened 11 minutes late, I'm not going to knock a star off. The cashier didn't show up and the owner himself came to fill in. It's a tough business to be in. For the food and reasonable price, definitely 5 stars. I had a Holdaak Spicy sandwich. The daikon slaw was awesome, and the fried chicken had just the right amount of spicy for me enough to make me sweat, but not enough to be painful. Can't say much for the interior, all the tables were pushed to the side and the chairs were stacked. Not sure if it's always that way, or it's because the cashier was supposed to set up. I'm assuming the latter.
I had been wanting to try Holdaak Fried Chicken, but after my experience today, I won’t be coming back. The young man taking my order, I believe his name was Angeleo, was very rude. I ordered fried chicken, but the food was cold. When I tried to let him know, he got right in my face. Then, unexpectedly, a woman who looked homeless—possibly his girlfriend—was sleeping in the back and ended up chasing me out of the restaurant. I never even got my fried chicken.
I've sampled all the hot chicken spots, and I have to say this one is my favorite. It's truly in a league of its own. The place is small, but the customer service is excellent. They also serve delicious sandwiches and have a cozy little area to sit and enjoy your meal. Even after moving away, I still make the drive back just to eat here. They offer the best hot fried chicken, wings, and chicken sandwiches around!

Person at the cash register is playing Pokémon Go while taking your order. Feels like he doesn’t give a care in the world. Won’t explain anything about the menu even if asked. Poor service.
This is not worth $11. I'm disappointed, Holdaak. It feels like you took advantage of us, and that's not acceptable. Please improve your standards.

This spot serves the best chicken I've ever had. The fries were incredible as well. I’ll definitely be back next time I'm in L.A.
