Great pub! Stumbled across it because we just went a little bit off the main path and away from the bars on the front. We went twice, just for a drink the first time and there was a great selection. Plenty of cask. We then went back the next day for the 'nibbles ' we ordered the pork pie and scratchings and also the chicken liver pate. We nearly couldn 't finish them! Proper plates of food from a proper pub.
Brilliant. Lovely atmosphere. Well pulled drinks, husband loved the Unicorn. Its nice to see staff keeping the place clear of empty glasses and cleaning tables as people come and go. Nice olde worlde pub to spend a couple of hours chatting over a few drinks. Never ate but food looked good.
the pub was spotless clean. the food was exceptional. one of the bar staff ignored us for a while my wife had to ask if we could order food , I had the ploughman's lunch probably one of the best ploughmen's i have very had,...
Lovely little pub with plenty of character , food was served hot and plentiful and was a very reasonable price. I would definitely recommend and will not hesitate to return next time we visit bowness. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Brilliant place away from the busy streets, friendly service and a filling meal. Feels like stepping into a time machine and being taken back in time. Overall a great place and would 100% recommend.
Great atmosphere and good Lamb Stew. Big portion for a decent price. Not too crowded and no loud music. Exactly what I was looking for.
Had a beer in the garden, slightly off the main drag at Bowness and nicer for it. Good range of beer. Would have liked to stay longer….
