We have stopped and eaten at this restaurant about 3 or 4 prior times over the last couple of years. Mostly, we had cocktails and apps. The Baba Ghnoush and wings were excellent at past visits so we decided to have dinner there last evening. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with the entres we ordered.I ordered the pasta Primavera and my wife had the Friday dinner special, fried clams dinner. Neither one of these dishes were very good. The assorted seafood in the pasta Primavera looked and tasted like it came out of a freezer bag and the pasta was overcooked. The fried clams were rubbery and slightly overcooked as well. We have been dining here for a few years since we moved to south county and always enjoyed the food. But, recently we went for dinner and I noticed a slight change in the recipes. I was told the mashed potatoes were Red Bliss. NOT AT ALL. They were brown skin and lumpy.(they were fine before) The Baked Stuffed Shrimp, Usually great! It seems there is a little change on some things that were already great? No Need to Spice up food that has been good all along. As this is what has made this place successful. Delishused ti be a regular Saturday night customer for Prime Rib but have gone 4 times since new ownership and can't bring ourselves to go and order prime rib again, every time we've gone the food we have ordered is disgusting and we end up with a newer waitress who ignores us unlike the original waitresses who actually recognize us and know exactly what we want. Most likely won't ever go back, cold and dried out buffalo wings kept us from ordering anything else. GIVING Matt and Homestead a bad name now ?
4 of us had dinner at Homestead last night. Unfortunately very disappointing. Not our first time here and usually very happy. Swordfish undercooked. Chicken overcooked and dry. Teriyaki sauce on side usually cooked with it. Vegetables looked like they had been sitting for a long time. And server not very attentive. Maybe just a bad night but will be reluctant to return.

Disappointing, no warm rolls with dinner, no crackers with soup,most of all, the salad had huge chunks that I couldn't cut up because the plate was too small. I had to ask for a larger plate to transfer the salad onto so I could cut it up without making a big mess. Honestly, I don't want to go to a restaurant and have to make my own salad. Very Disappointing
Very affordable sandwiches, we were happy to see common sense prices for a change. We both enjoyed our chicken sandwiches. The service was friendly and attentive and the vibe is old school country, we really enjoyed it.
Great fish chips!! Batter is perfectly seasoned. Very large portions. Building is old and needs a little reviving, but that's part of it's charm. Very attentive waiter.
Delicious food. Hard working and friendly staff, who always make it a pleasant dining experience. We come here quite often. Good luck to George and his family.
