We read the online reviews but the Montrose Road store was close.... Arrived at p.m. on Saturday evening. people each at tables near the bar were finishing up, a family of was seated in the center dining area and people...were in the side area. No one was at the reception sign so we proceeded to the bar. Our bouncy bartender left the sole customer at the far end after a few minutes of chat with him to acknowledge us. We explained we wanted to order out; she asked what we wanted. We explained a menu might be helpful, which she then fetched for us and hastily returned to the backward baseball cap at the bar’s other end. A couple more inches of fabric on her hot pants garb would be a kindness....
of us went in the afternoon after an uplifting show at the Cinema. What a let down Hoops was. It almost seems as though they’re preparing to shut down permanently. That’s certainly the impression we got. There was only one server and although she...tried to be pleasant it was obvious she had a difficult role. We started out by ordering coffee. “We don’t have any. We ran out.” We tried for herbal tea. “We only have orange pekoe”. I ordered mine with lemon and honey. “We don’t have honey”. The tea finally came but no milk or lemon or sugar. Popped in after work to grab a couple of beers, took forever to get the first one as the bartender was too busy talking with another staff member just out of sight by the kitchen entrance/exit, waited almost minutes after finishing first beer for...her to come over and see if we wanted a second one. One of us even had to get up and grab her attention to get the bill. Only deserving a tip in my opinion. Not like it was busy or she had tables she was tending to. Will not be going back regardless as this seems to be a standard at this establishment.
My girlfriend went to hoops November and was served a steak that smelt and tasted rancid. It had the odour of actual rotting trash. The steak was brought home and was brought back to the restaurant today the Everyone working at the time...of was anything less then helpful and horribly rude. Normally the food at hoops is awful, but this time it was obvious they served rotting meat. DO NOT EAT HERE, do you’re self a favour and go anywhere else. I cannot stress that enough, you are better off eating roadkill than a steak from Hoops

Four of us have been going fairly often to Hoops before seeing a movie. Wings have really gone downhill, the biggest wing of all four of us was size of a little finger, overdone and pathetic looking. The fries were cut about an inch long....Service was slow as there was only serving entire restaurant. We asked if the wings were small because it was half price night, waitress said they are always like that. We will not return.
Came here for the first time with a friend. He got the garlic bread which was served on a bed of shredded lettuce and not well browned. I got the poutine and was happy with it. Service was kind of slow. Waited for someone to...greet us and after a few min, we seated ourselves. Another few min after that, someone brought menus.
My wife and I along with friends went to Hoops after a movie, service was good from Crystal, so was the food, but the dining experience was poor due to lack of heat and poor selection of Red Wine. B.....Niagara
