While paying our bill we were rudely informed by owner we need to leave a tip pointing to tip line on receipt I informed her we left a generous tip on the table and she still insisted on tip on card. I of coarse refused. She followed us out the doors still telling us we need to tip. She was told to leave us alone and she followed us to our car telling us again we need to tip more. Will not go back. I have heard others saying they have had similar experiences.
The service is poor Sushi is hot and not fresh. And the owner will follow you to your vehicle if she thinks you have not left a big enough tip on top of their 15% charge they don't let you know about. This place has really gone down hill in food quality and service. Harassment of customers and fat shaming by saying you should sit at a table because you won't fit in a booth is not professional at all.
My companion also ordered vegetable tempura, but it turned out to be more like deep-fried vegetables coated in catfish breading—it was definitely not traditional tempura! Unfortunately, we won't be returning to this location. If you're looking for authentic hibachi or tempura, I'd suggest seeking other options. On a positive note, the sushi rolls, seaweed salad, and miso soup were enjoyable.
I was genuinely impressed by my experience. The food was exceptional—quite possibly the best Japanese cuisine I've ever tasted. The flavors were excellent, and the portion sizes were just right. Here are my ratings: Food: 5, Service: 5, Atmosphere: 5. I highly recommend the rolls, steak, fried rice, and noodles. For dining in, we enjoyed a lunch that cost about $50–100 per person. We have been to many : family member is Japanese. Fish was not fresh, some really old. Tempura was simply absurd, akin to bad Onion Rings in a hamburger place. NASTY kitchen, amazed it passes health inspections. Funky bathroom, poorly placed near kitchen. WAY overpriced. Seriously lame waitress. New Tokyo mere blocks west on the highway is much better.
1000X better than the expensive place across the way. No sticky floor so they keep their mops clean! Thank goodness The wait staff were very nice, very clean and respectful! Very nice clean restaurant with friendly fast service and yummy food!! My husband and I had the sweet potato sushi roll and also the avocado roll. Both rolls were very good. We also had the stir fry vegetables which was seasoned just right. Very good place to eat! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
