This is a grand old building with charm. We arrived before the restaurant opened and were fairly grudgingly allowed to sit in the very small bar to wait. We booked a table for 7pm, but no-one came to get us or bring us a menu. Another cultural difference? Who knows!We decided to have the Tournedos Rossini. If you are familiar with the Italian one, this is not the same! It was a fairly thin fillet steak, topped with foie gras served with a fan of mange tout and pureed squash. No potatoes. We ordered our steak well done, knowing how the French like their steak - it came rare. At Eur24, this was not good value for money. Service was formal and efficient. Wine was reasonably priced.
We ate at the restaurant when we stayed at the hotel. On checking in we explained that one of our party was coeliac and asked if they could accomadate this.When we went down for the meal the confirmed they had spoken to the chef and we were offered a choice of 2 starters that were suitable for coeliacs and confirmed that one of the main courses and desserts could be adjusted.The rest of the party were offered an excellent set menu with 3 or 4 options each course.We chose to eat in the courtyard and enjoyed a superb meal.
This was a bit of a blast from the past in a good way. A very traditional looking French dining room with efficient staff and delicious food. A few more people would have enhanced the experience as there were only three tables occupied. The food, traditional French but with a lighter touch, was delicious and well presented: both food and wine were reasonably priced for the surroundings. The terrace also looked a good place to eat.
Excellent food served in formal surroundings by formally trained staff. Excellent menu choices and totally accommodating for our vegetarian friend. Not one omlette or goats cheese salad was offered. What a relief. They made a good effort. Style and elegance with haute cuisine. Nothing more to add except prices very acceptable. Only criticism would be wine prices a bit steep.

A 3 course menu at 24 euros, freshly cooked. The service was good although just a tad formal. It would have been nice to have had slightly more choice but we enjoyed the quality of the ingredients. The wine was excellent and competitively priced.
If you want modern then this probably isn't the place for you-but I love it because it us old fashioned and French! We had secure parking-a balcony and a decent shower-excellent wifi throughout hotel and a decent breakfast
A reflection of the unique and simple blends of dining all at an excellent price. The French know how to eat well, drink well and live well! Something we should all take home after a holiday and revive in our lives!
Clean, local ingredients for classic French cuisine, served in a traditional setting, part of a charming country hotel. Excellent, professional service and decent pricing. Recommend wholeheartedly!

This is not a review but a correction. The establishment at this address is called the Hotel de France, not the Logis de France - which is a national chain of hotels to which this one belongs.
