We stayed at Hotel de L'Europe for a 5 nights. This is family owned and a traditional French hotel. Not many staff speak English so you will need your phrase book. Breakfast is traditional baguettes & fruit but they also offer cereal and yoghurts for €7.00. Evening meals are served on an outdoor terrace with great atmosphere. This requires booking as it is usually full due to the good pizzas. Very reasonably priced also. Rooms are clean with air conditioning. We had a beautiful view from out bedroom over the rooftops and could see the hills. It is centrally located on the edge of the village.
This was the third time we'd stayed at the Hotel de l'Europe and received a warm welcome from Bernard and Patrick who've run the hotel for the last 20 years. The restaurant offers a wide variety of good value meals and excellent pizzas. Breakfast is typically French with wonderful croissants home made jam and fruit, cereals and yoghurts. The bar is small and lively and in the summer there's a lovely terrace outside. The rooms are comfortable and have recently had refurbished bathrooms with excellent shower facilities. A good value stay.
If you travel with friends, enjoy more time spent together. We ordered a pork spider cut in the leg, Gambas, a rib-eye steak and a pizza. The rib eyes I ordered were not hot and had too many sins. I tried. They were great and delicious. The pizza was great. A big pizza was for 12€ $13.50). We had a very good red wine. As dessert, we all had a Norwegian omelette. That was delicious. We had a good laugh with our server Pascale. A small problem is sound insulation. It's very loud. We had a hard time talking and listening. We're back.
Bernard Patrick, and his staff are friendly efficient and happy to help, particularly those of us with little or no french language skills. The rooms are good value, but the food is fantastic, we sampled a weeks worth of menu's Pizza strike out as the...best in the area. The menu is varied and good for veggies, which is rare. Good wind list with Chazalis being amazing. Well used by locals which is always a good sign.

Stayed here for a couple of nights during a motorcycle trip through the area last week. Whilst the hotel is a little tired it is very clean and exceptional value for money paid. The hotels restaurant is great and the food very very good. If...you stay, try their home made open oven cooked pizzas, they 're lovely. Breakfast was very good a better offering than many of the hotels we have stayed in.
We stayed in the hotel on a bed and breakfast basis. On our first night we arrived late and chose to eat in the restaurant for ease. It was so good that we returned three more times. All the food was good quality, fresh and tasty. The pizzas are huge! We were always served quickly and the waitresses and waiters were friendly.
That was an unforgettable dinner. A friend of mine and I shared a few meats (Räge Rindersteak) and Chatus bottle of red wine. It was a treat. Very delicious. The server was super, fun and friendly. I visited this place several times. Always happy to come back.
We had a plat du jour, on a very nice terrace with beautiful view. The food was a little disappointing, the food is fresh and the buffet has rather good choice, but the meat was not tender. Fortunately we did not have to pay very much.

A nice terrace, excellent menu du jour and drinks for an honest price! The hors d'oeuvre buffet was fresh and varied. The meat of the main course was very good. Two nice scoops of icecream included. Go there when in Joyeuse.
We ordered two different pizzas and shared them. They were both good, but not great. The service was friendly and quite fast.
