a friendly and delicious hotel and restaurant! the oppidum has saved the pilgrim, possible that in a city unesco heritage there is nothing open nor as hotel ne restaurants on Saturday of November?! here are open! are very kind and helpful! How home! the rooms are nice, comfortable and clean! TV and wifi! The French home cooking very good and rich! in the evening they opened the restaurant only for me, they were more than kind, an immense heart! on trip as on google maps the restaurant is marked in the wrong location, located in the center of the village right behind the cathedral, you are just immersed in the historicity of this lovely country! The oppidum will save you! Thank you
The location of this hotel is very atmospheric, and the town extremely interesting, so it is worthwhile putting up with the very spotty quality of the food. During high tourist season I suspect Madame is in the kitchen, but we got re-heated things, a bad wine list, and even one salad with a live worm. Still, I would stay there again because of the atmosphere and the kindness of the owner. It is the only restaurant open in the evenings. There are Crèperies open during the day. We used it as a base to visit the many attractions in the area.
This hotel is a find it is old fashioned in the nicest way, comfortable, clean, with good food and a proprietor who made our stay with his genuine kindness. We arrived in a rainstorm, not sure where we were going, in a town out of season, and were welcomed into warmth, a lovely meal, notably comfortable beds in a big and welcoming bedroom (with unbelievable views over this town and the mountains). We would detour to come here again.
We found ourselves without a room for one night, having miscalculated when making reservations. A guide book brought us to Saint-Betrand-de-Comminges, where we found l'Oppidum, which fortunately had a room. Friendly hosts, decent room, sans plus. Could do with a bit of updating. But the town and church are worth a visit. Minimal breakfast. Didn't use the restaurant.

kitchen quite simple but good, deserves the 4 points for good value quality price. in the different menus proposed (18, 21 and 24 euro wines excluded) varies mainly the choice of the second (except the one to 18 that has a flow in less). You always start with the garbure, vegetable soup and very goose duck. wine at a fixed price 15 euro discreet.
very warm welcome, as at home one feels well in this restaurant room, the excellent scrub, some people from our table didn't know and it's made honor by finishing it.Thank you for having enjoyed our little lena 4 and a half years that was entitled to the stone jam with duck fat. very rich and tasteful dishes. A restaurant with a real traditional regional kitchen. It's delicious, and it's huge. After a long walk, there's a place where you can drown your hunger. The fries that they put in the rest of the restaurants are sick. It's a really good home kitchen!
The owner and the chef are delightful people and present a region menu that is abundant and exquisite. Overall great experience and the best way to start the tour of the cathedral from this top rated one if the most beautiful villages of France .

This was the best paella I have had in this very small village in the off season. A great experience. Do not miss the lower village.
