I've now eaten at the Cigale about times in the last two years since the new owners took over. Although I hate their décor I have to admit that I've consistently eaten superb food every time. Whether it's the starter, the main plate...or the desserts, you can count on them being made with high-quality fare which is perfectly cooked and presented. All that at a more than reasonable price. Don't be put off by their location, beside a main road, or as I said, the décor which isn't in the best of taste, but as I've said previously, the hell with that if the food is good. the restaurant has had a major refurb and this has been done with style and sophistication. welcome arrival and although we were early to the french diners the setting more than made up. the balcony seating has amazing views over the sea but it was...a tad chilly so we enjoyed the chandelier lighting etc. we took advantage of the Saturday special course menu euros with a lovely house rose euros a carafe. the service was excellent, attentive but not hurried and the presentation of each course was exciting. we enjoyed the complimentary liquer to complete a wonderful eating experience. we will be returning to Gassin next year and this will certainly be on our list of to do"s.
if they are for a gift for everyone stuck, rich poor, happy, sad, then they don't see more than this invite the pleasure. bought mixed jelly, baked, but stumbled on their 'piece de resistance', namely meringues. huge, plate-sized monster with exactly the right amount of...gooey softness. the best of the 'au naturel' and their taste buds explode with the amazing, pistachios, piniennuss or chocolate versions. shop will make gift wrap anything so that these amazing gifts can make when they can stop eating them, that is. visit, eat, pamper.
We have been to the cigale twice in the past week. I must say we were not disappointed. Found the staff very friendly and for the price the food was excellent. They have a three course meal for euro which you could not fault....There is a nice atmosphere in the bar section and even though they speak very little English and we speak even less French we were welcomed each time we went there.

From the outside this place looks very plain, but take the time to go inside and the restaurant is very well appointed. The best bit though is the terrace that has views across the vineyards to the sea beyond. The food was excellent with an...amuse bouche served. The service was excellent and the wine list was good with a focus on local wines. A great place to visit.
This place is just off the main street in La Croix- Valmer (next to the pizza place, off the roundabout at the bottom of the main street) Ate here as a group of everyone enjoyed their meals not as expensive as other places!...The owner had a good sense of humour helpful explaining the dishes on offer. I did not try the medailles, but the quiche, cake and tarte au citron must be the best I ever had.
Just stopped in today to pick up muffins for my office girls ended up buying a lot moreNo regrets.
