Yes, this is the only hotel/restaurant in Belesta, Ariège. However there are several Belestas in France so it's easy for Trip Advisor to be confused. Anyway... If you peer in through the window it would be easy to be put off. The tables you see are bare with no one sitting at them. You'll probably see a few people around the bar... ...but go in and you will be very pleasantly surprised. The restaurant seems to be run by papa and daughter; both are pleasant and friendly. The hotel was redone recently as we found out from the owner and homme a tout faire , Francis. It is very clean and has all the needed basics, including great air conditioning. If you stay several days like we did, you end up mixing with the locals at the bar and being invited by the owner to partake in the last Rugby win celebration for the local team, celebration which includes many goodies from the restaurant! The restaurant menu is simple and the food doesn 't disappoint. So much so that we had dinner there every night. An excellent experience overall and I highly recommend Au Palais Cathare. Cannot recommend this place enough! We were 4 bikers (2x couples) who stayed here for 2 nights. The hotel itself is very tastefully refurbished and has everything you need. The staff were all super friendly and helpful, they couldn't have made us feel more welcome. The restaurant serves great food at a great price, we didn't have one bad dish between us. The bar in the hotel is frequented by many locals so has a great atmosphere and everyone very welcoming. Overall would go back in a heart beat and would highly recommend! (For bikers they have an off street area away from the road where you can park your bikes so very safe).
Well worth a stop or stopover, even a detour. Prices compare well for excellent local menus, wine is good quality and very reasonable. We have eaten here on several occasions in the last couple of years. The family run establishment is just right, whether for a quick lunch-again well priced- or for more formal evening eating. After an almost complete rebuild,there is a nice ambiance, the swimming pool is completed and I think the rooms are now open. (? Check first) A good bar rounds it all off, friendly locals complete the picture, unlike some which can be off putting and cliquey.

Arriving at this tiny town with nothing here but boulangerie, boucherie, estate agent and hairdresser and small 'corner shop ', we couldn 't believe how good this hotel is. Room was modern, good size and clean. Bathroom with shower the same. Wasn 't sure about restaurant, but again, it is in the back of the bar area, and great. Food was excellent and even had decaffinated coffee which can be rare to find. All in all a massive thumbs up for this place.
We chanced on this hotel restaurant whilst touring in the Pyrenees. It appears to be the only restaurant in Belesta.On offer was a very good Plat du Jour menu, with a range of choices at each course, for €14.50 per person including a glass of wine/beer & coffee.The food was well prepared and presented, and the service was delightful. If you are in the area, this restaurant is well worth a visit.
As far as we could see the only restaurant, think others have said this. Great food, nice place, good service there is a bar as well as the restaurant, reasonably priced. Don't know if you have to book on other nights we went on a Wednesday and it was empty. We sat inside after being out in the sun all day, it was nice to have shade and air-con.
Lovely service from a very helpful waitress. She knew what was in each dish and was happy to translate anything we weren't sure of. The restaurant had a pleasant ambience and seemed to have a good local clientele - always a good sign. Price wise the Sunday lunch was good value at 19.50 euros - I would certainly go back

This is actually the only restaurant in Belesta, Ariege. It is absolutely great, though. Cosy, modern French feel. Very friendly staff and all food is home made. We will be going again - taking friends next time...
Stay only one night but if i could i stay longer.very friendly staff.nice clean big rooms with shower and with airco.nice restaurant and bar also.free wifi in whole building.parkingplace in front of hotel
