I came across Hush quite by accident. I was looking for somewhere to have a coffee before the working day, and walked by...I didn't even realise it was a cafe at first as I couldn't see the name anywhere. Even inside it is a mystery! I had to ask! The freshly baked savoury muffins caught my eye, many to choose from. And because I love black coffee to get all the aroma and taste, it was made difficult with do I go for espresso, filtered or "group brew" (not sure if that is the correct term?) I actually chose the latter and was pleased to be able to try something out of the ordinary. I love to go to indpendents and support locals, especially so when they are this good. Fremantle is a remarkable center for innovative cuisine. Coming from the San Francisco Bay Area I thought the western coast of Australia would be a backwater in re food. Therefore I was thoroughly surprised at the number of restaurants serving outstanding, fascinating combinations of ingredients. Hush is a must for new takes on traditional dishes. My order of granola and fruit turned out to be a deconstructed array of fresh and dried fruits, nuts and seeds surrounding a delicious panna cotta. My friend's salad of crispy kale, ancient grains and perfectly poached eggs was just as innovative. Add to this, excellent espresso drinks, Hush is an outstanding choice for breakfast.
Having a wander through Freo my friend and I came across Hush. Ordered coffees which came out quickly and were hot!! Ordered savory muffins toasted and these were sensational! Presentation pretty spectacular too - cut into half, on a mini board and a triangle oh butter! We were most impressed!! Great find in a funky part of town!!

Great coffee and opens early, serves breakfast and now is doing gluten-free bagels. A place you can grab a few things and go or chill out, take your time and listen to whats just going on, read... I like when they play the Pixies! Great breakfast moment.
There are obviously a few good ones, but this is to my opinion the best coffee in town... Good food too and a friendly bunch! Tucked away from strip, you'll find lots of locals!
Popular ( busy ) cafe on High Street with a wonderful collection of baked treats and sandwiches. Efficient service. Lack of seating at popular times.

Amazing almond lattés! Nice upstairs seating area with comfy sofas. Beautiful latte art :). Definitely our favorite cafe in Fremantle.
