Our server had an attitude when we originally told him to split the bill and then to make it easier on him we told him to put it all on one and he was rude to my friend when she told him this. A group of us were in last night with reservations as it was our friend’s birthday. Pros: the food was okay. Everyone got their order out at least. Cons: I tried multiple dishes from friends at the table, and the bread, it is not worth the price they are charging. My husband and I entertained a business guest here a few days ago. 1) The most egregious, and disgusting, part of the experience was that my husband witnessed a member of the staff use the men’s room and promptly return to the kitchen without washing his hands 2) our guest ordered the prawns as an appetizer (or shellfish of some sort). We visited II Bel Lago for an appreciation dinner with buisness colleagues. The food and drinks were fantastic. The atmosphere is warm and attractive. The menu was top tier. We're definitely placing II Bel Lago in our top 5 favorites for Italian food in St. Louis. However, I will say that it was obvious that our waiting staff prioritized larger tables. Our 3rd time to this fine dining restaurant. The caprese salad was served without the balsamic reduction and no one came by to check on us so used the table balsamic vinegar which made a runny mess…my glass was not refilled…had to drink from my spouses glass…2 problems..the caprese salad should have never left the kitchen incomplete and been severe by the waitperson.. and the waitperson was only around to serve the next course and drop and collect the check. We came for lunch on a Friday, sat outside. Service was slow and just unpleasant. We ordered 4 dishes and all of them were unseasoned. We ordered a swordfish plate and it was definitely spoiled, so we sent it back. The portions were very small and just in general not worth the money.
Had the pleasure of dining here with family and friends for the first time yesterday. Excellent food, lively atmosphere and great service. Our waiter, Brett, was very kind and attentive — he really made us all feel at home. Definitely going back for more.
Absolutely fantastic Italian restaurant, had the Involtini di Pollo Bush and tried a handful of appetizers and dessert. I’ve heard there are a ton of great Italian restaurants in St. Louis, this is certainly one of them.
