After many many years of enjoying Il Capriccio, this most recent dinner was disappointing. The room is still one of the most beautiful in the tristate area. The cocktails were excellent, however, the cuisine took an unfortunate nose dive. The chef seemed to avoid using any salt at all. The bread basket came at limp and at room temperature. We had to mention that the stuffed sole special was dead on arrival, dry and flavorless. The caesar salad, though properly prepared, was severely over-dressed. The bottarga pasta was actually not bad, though we couldn't match the flavor profiles with what we ordered.
