Illusive is the name of this restaurant and that may be due do its location. You would never know it was here unless you already knew about it. It is hidden out of view behind other buildings on Ferry Steet. But once you do find it, you won't be disappointed. The food is creatively unique, with some of the most inventive names I've seen in a while. I would rate it 6 stars for creativity! Both indoor and outdoor seating are comfortable, though I recommend making a reservation if you're planning to dine at 6 PM. The outdoor seating is just as inviting. The walls are adorned with various pieces of art, some of which are available for sale, adding a nice touch to the ambiance. So many people recommended this place for dinner that I think my expectations were set too high. We started with a variety of appetizers, including two types of tater tots and two flavors of wings. The wings were fantastic! We tried the Thai chili and Buffalo styles, and both were really delicious. The tater tots were good but nothing out of the ordinary. So the name IS what it is from the outside that is. Less than 5mins away from the Rensselaer train station in some back space lol. HOWEVER, on the inside it was worth the chance. Pretty crowded for a Tuesday evening. Everything on the menu makes you second guess the choice before. Mick Jigga and Dragon's Breath burgers were exceptionally tasty and so was the mac cheese (could've had more heat for me for the one I got though). Had to wait a tad for a table, but the girls were friendly and took good care of things. Hope to visit again
This place is amazing! My friend and I found this cute local spot when looking for a place to get together. The food is always fantastic and the drinks are regularly delicious. Service has always been friendly and attentive. They have a patio for outdoor seating with a slight view of Albany. My most recent trip here was for my birthday. I got a couple of their special margaritas and a delicious chicken mac n cheese which was to die for. I cannot wait to return here again!
Illusive is fantastic! Why? Because someone very special to me is in the kitchen, truly pouring their heart and soul into the cooking! You can really taste the passion in every dish. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the patio area is lovely—perfect for relaxing outdoors. The food is incredibly delicious (which is no surprise). The presentation and quality are outstanding! It's definitely a must-visit for happy hour, lunch, or dinner! Keep up the great work!
I absolutely love this restaurant and highly recommend it! You can really see that Illusive Bar Restaurant cares about its guests. The food is delicious, and both the portion sizes and seasoning are spot on. Everything is always well-packaged, and after multiple orders, the quality has consistently surpassed other places! The food here is fantastic! I ordered a burger, and it was absolutely delicious. My friend tried the chicken sandwich special, and she loved it too. The Artichoke Spinach Dip was to die for; I could eat that all day! The waitress was really friendly as well. I'll definitely be coming back!
