My heading just about sums Indian Spice up! It was a reasonably quiet night when we went, so can't comment on the efficiency of the service when busy, but the staff were friendly and offered helpful suggestions on the menu if asked. The food was very good - my Vindaloo had just the right amount of heat without detracting from the flavour and my other half's Lamb Rogan Josh was tender and tasty. Rice serving was generous and the Naan bread was good. It was a bit pricey, but then so are all the restaurants in Glenelg - I should imagine that their council rates are astronomical, so they have to offset their costs on their menu! It's a nice location in Moseley Square and a good spot to sit outsi...
We found ourselves in Adelaide for the day and decided to get the train to the city and then the tram to Glenelg. As we were on a cruise, we weren't starving, but decided that some Indian dessert may be nice. The Indian Spice Restaurant looked very inviting. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We finally settled on some garlic naan and samosas for the gentleman and I choose the mango ice cream. I am not an icecream lover but their mango icecream was just so delicious. I hope to have another day in Adelaide next month and will definitely return to the restaurant for another helping of their wonderful product.
Not a bad Indian resturant. Was a bit put off as on both visits, although several weeks apart, quite a few dishes were not available. A vegetable dish I ordered was not available, so they did offer a salad instead. This was very dull and ordinary the carrot were sliced, and seemed to be the juicing type carrots as they were so hard I couldn't get my fork into them! For a resturant I found it hard to couldn't pull off s salad. The tandoori chicken was good though. I might try again as good Indians are hard to find and this would do at a push and its local for me.
I was there in Glenelg with my husband and my friends. The restaurant was quite busy and one guy (waiter) was there who attend our table after few minutes. I ordered a starter, mains, 3 naans and 4 serves of rice. But the waiter suggested me 2 serves of rice may enough for 4 people and I appreciate him. Second visit here. The first time was a great food experience. But this time we all found it to be pretty average. No stand out meals. The vindaloo was not hot enough. The madrass was far too sweet and even though we asked for it to be cooked hot and spicy it was very tame. Very dissapointing. You can get the same food cheaper at other places close by.
All the dishes were so delicious and my 16 month old and 3 year old both loved the samosas- the filling was a little spicy so they mainly ate the pastry. They also loved the kashmiri naan. I loved my Goan fish curry!Fantastic location with water front views and super friendly staff!
Best Indian meal we have had since 2007 when we first came to Adelaide. It was seriously tasty, full of spices and the chicken Tika starter is to die for. Staff are great, highly recommend this restaurant ????????????
