After looking at places I wanted to try during our stay in Hilo, I was most excited about eating here and going to the Farmer's Market. Imagine my disappointment when it was pouring rain the day we went to the Farmer's Market, and with the large crowd, there was nowhere covered to eat. If I'd been by myself, I would have just ordered to go, but the rest of my party wanted to sit down somewhere to eat. So we went somewhere else. On our last day in Hilo, I finally made it to Poke N Sides and it was delicious. I had to wait in a line, but it went quickly. There is both a line for burgers and a line for poke. I chose poke. There is a cooler display with all the food and when you get to the count...
Best pork ever! We stopped here in our way to Volcano. Had the most amazing pork bowl with sides. Melt in your mouth pork. So many choices. My husband had the poke and it was delicious as well. The girl working the register was so nice and patient as the lines were long and with so many options it can take awhile. Awesome customer service with a smile!!!! Cute little outside eating area they share with shaved ice place that was also amazing!!! Lunch and dessert!!!
The food here is incredibly flavorful, and the hot sauce packs a real punch. The coconut salad offers a refreshing twist that I really enjoyed. The chicken is beautifully seasoned with coconut and spices, and has a wonderfully crisp skin. The beef practically melts in your mouth—it's my favorite dish on the menu. However, I do feel that the portion sizes are a bit on the small side for the price.
This restaurant is conveniently located next to the market and offers outdoor seating. The prices are reasonable, and there are some great options to choose from. Poke and burgers! They even have vegan/vegetarian options. Great prices and includes fries and a drink. Usually a line out the door but goes by quick. Pictured is the vegan “beyond” burger.
Such good food! Had the beef rendang and fried chicken (ayam goreng) plates, everything was flavorful and authentic!! Definitely recommend. The sambal sauce was awesome too. Thank you Nia!
I really enjoyed the spicy chicken plate. The service was incredibly quick. I also had the chance to meet the owners at the Waikoloa Saturday Night, and they were very friendly.
