Now, for the details: before our starters, we enjoyed poppadoms with condiments. The poppadoms were good, but instead of the classic three dips (which included the mint yogurt that we couldn’t have), we received five different vegan options (including a vegan mint yogurt), and I can’t identify all of them, but they were all delicious! For starters, we ordered the vegetable samosas and hara kebabs (stir-fried chickpeas). Both were delicious, but we especially enjoyed the hara kebab. For our mains, we both had the vegan tikka masala, which was amazing with so many flavors from the coconut milk and a hint of sweetness! It tasted like a curry version of a Peshwari naan! This restaurant would easily earn a 5-star rating, but Happy Cow only gives 5 stars to fully vegan places. They offer an extensive selection of vegan options, including appetizers, mains, and sides. We’ve never had a bad dish here, and their vegan curry is some of the best we’ve ever tasted, whether we were vegan or not. They don’t just substitute oil and food additives to fill out the dishes; each one is thoughtfully prepared and perfected over many years. We usually opt for the korma or tikka masala (which has a nice kick) along with a side, plenty of poppadoms, and, of course, the vegan mint sauce. We can't wait to return!
We chose this restaurant purely based on its Google reviews and the enticing aroma of delicious food wafting from the street. We were not let down. The service was excellent and prompt. Our meals arrived quickly, piping hot and fresh. I appreciated that the chicken was breast meat; while that may not matter to everyone, it was a nice touch for me. The prices were reasonable, and the staff was friendly. We will definitely return. Service: Dine in.
Good service, only thing I found is Tikamasla can some time be too creamy and no punch.. Very nice food. I would suggest not turning up late the in the evening though. Our party were warned that service was only available for an hour when we arrived at 10.30pm fair enough. However having a team of waiters in their coats clearing the table at 11.30pm and accosting people who had gone to the loo for their share of the bill was not my idea of customer service. I'll stick to Indiluxe or Bombay pickles in future. Food: 5
The best vegan curries and starters I have ever had. What an amazing restaurant, we normally order in but decided to pop out and had a great meal, really attentive staff. Awesome! I was served by Maz, who is a fantastic guy. The food is consistently amazing, and the staff are very patient. This is hands down the best Indian restaurant in Stourbridge. Highly recommended!
