We came in to this pub for some food, a drink, and a smoke.The venue is a bit smaller than I expected, but has some comfortable seats and friendly staff.The food was great value for the price we paid, but don't expect perfection. The cocktails were cheap, but the beers/sides were priced averagely unless you get them by the jug. You have to leave your drinks and go out to the front street for a drink though, which is a big downside for my friends and I.If you're looking for a cheap pub feed close to the CBD I would recommend this place.
This premise was the original 1896 first bank of Nsw in Melbourne and it has been well preserved and converted into a warm and friendly tavern / Resturant since 1982 by locals who appreciate good ambience and good conversational background music Manager Michael along with his welcoming staff gave that warm Familiy friendly dinning experience and provided fresh and inviting meals / tappas at a good price and good location and warm haven from the bitterly coldness of Victoria Got to come back !!
This a family run British style pub on Flinder's Street. What brought us to this place was the sign of 'mulled cider' on a cold winter evening. That's just what you want after a long day to relax. The ambience was instantly likeable - warm lights, solid wooden tables, comfy couches and soft music. The chicken parma was excellent though the pizza options were just average. Given its location, service and quality, it is very reasonably priced.
Relaxing and Value for money: Always a great place to start a night out: Always great friendly and accommodating. Relaxed atmosphere and great location: right across from the Aquarium. There are value $13 meals and $10 cocktails and quality is fine! I enjoy this place and all my crew did as well. Thanks again for a great evening! We will be back...again! We found the place when strolling through the streets looking for a bar to have a pint of beer. The place was nice - big sofas, not as noisy, few tourists but more locals. A selection of local beers ans some basic food is available as well - all for good prices. We went back every evening we spent in Melbourne.
The meals are nice, taste good and the cost is great. They are slightly small but it depends on how much you eat. Good selection of both food and drinks. Great stop for lunch or a quick dinner. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming.
The authentic Australian bar experience, a parma/parmy, decent selection of beer, and all at a good price. The location is great too, amazed to find such value so close to the busy, costly riverfront. Top notch.
