When we stayed at the Ibis Budget hotel we went to look for somewhere to have dinner. I have to say we could not find much open but we came across this little Bistro/Cafe which was attached to the local supermarket and thank goodness we did! The manager and staff were so helpful, the manager could speak perfect English which really helped as we had to explain about food allergies that my friends son has. He adapted the meals so that we could have what we required, I took my infants food with me and he heated that up for us also, the food was all home cooked including the bread, it was lovely and at a very reasonable price. We travelled from the dordogne and stayed just north of Rouen in Isneauville, right next to the motorway ready for the final leg of our journey. We came across an intermarche and right next to the store was the intermade brasserie. Usually we would not eat dinner in what appears to be a supermarket cafe, but this certainly is not the case. It's independent and I think, not part of the intermarche? The owner spoke perfect English, was extremely helpful and could not be more welcoming. Dropped in after 11 hours of stressful driving - heavy traffic, hour long jams, serious crashes (not involving us!). Needed some veggie food before hitting the road again. Served quickly with a massive salad bowl including warmed French cheese on bread. Very tasty! The main guy (sorry, can't remember your name) was very helpful - with the food & with other things pertaining to our ongoing travels.
