I have been a lover of Jamaican cuisine for many years. During one of my trips to Jamaica I was able to participate in a cookoff competition with some famous chefs and sometimes I cook Jamaican staples at home. I was excited to see that there was a couple of Jamaican restaurants in the area when I moved to StL County, so I decided to try Irie Eats. I must say that I was disappointed with the food that I ordered. The jerk chicken was the biggest disappointment...first of all I must say that the chicken wings were so teeny tiny... I've visited Irie's Eat a few times and have tried their oxtail, curry chicken, and curry goat on several occasions. I must mention that the curry goat was a bit too salty for my taste, but that didn't take away from its juiciness. The combination of cabbage, rice, and curry goat helped balance out the saltiness in each bite. The food was still very flavorful and well-seasoned, with the goat being particularly succulent. The plantains were delicious, although I can't help but feel it's a bit of a rip-off to charge nearly $6 for just six pieces. My best friend, being Caribbean, insists that she can't enjoy Jamaican food without plantains.
Irie eats did not disappoint!! Coming from the Caribbean I didn't expect to find good food up in stl but I was wrong about this place. So far I've had the j chicken plate, chicken curry plate, oxtail plate and the goat curry plate. Their rice is top tier and delicious! Everything is a 10/10
I heard great reviews for Irie and was excited to try them only to be disappointed by rubbery oxtails, a dry beef patty, and unseasoned cabbage. Will not purchase anything from them again. Highly disappointed in the quality. Plaintain were delicious though!

The restaurant did not have one of the meals I ordered, and I wasn't asked if I wanted to replace it with another meal. This is unacceptable.
The food here is outstanding. The staff and management are wonderful. The seasoning is just right, and the portions are generous.
The restaurant was not open during its listed business hours! I won't be looking for Iris Eats again!
