The food is decent, but the experience with ordering through DoorDash has been incredibly frustrating. I place an order, and after it's accepted, I end up waiting 30-50 minutes only to be told that there’s no food available. The most aggravating part is that they expect me to cancel the order myself, which means I won’t get a refund since DoorDash believes my meal is being prepared. I then have to spend time contacting DoorDash to resolve the issue, all because the restaurant could have chosen not to accept my order in the first place. This has happened to me three times now.
The stew chicken, oxtail, and butter shrimp were good, but I was disappointed. It’s not even noon, and you were already out of patties and other menu items. That's unacceptable. The jerk rice was too wet and mushy, and the chicken soup was watery. The prices are too high for what you get, and the portion sizes are small. My suggestion is that if you're going to raise your prices, you should maintain or improve the portion sizes and quality of the food.
This breakfast is truly delightful! I had the liver served with yams, sweet plantains, and green plantains, adding extra gravy to enhance the flavor. It also includes dumplings. The total cost was $8.64, which is enough food for two adults or three small children. I should note that the Liver Breakfast is only offered on weekends. It's a great budget-friendly option!
I experienced a miscommunication with DoorDash that resulted in more than half of my order being missed. However, the restaurant took the initiative to deliver the food themselves and even called to make sure we received everything and were satisfied. The portion of curry goat was generous, but it had a strange or off taste. The rice and peas were alright—slightly overcooked, but still edible. The plantains tasted fine, though the oil they were cooked in might have been a bit old. The patties were the only thing I found to be completely enjoyable; I really liked those.
The food here is absolutely delicious! It's consistently fantastic and reminds me of the kind of meals your friend's mom would make—using quality ingredients, expertly prepared, and served in generous portions. As a regular customer, I highly recommend this restaurant!
I appreciate that they open at 9 AM, giving them a competitive edge by 2 to 3 hours. The food and service here are also far superior to what you might find on the Boulevard. Just saying!
