Iron Buffalo reminds me a bit of Callahan 's Crosstime Saloon...full of warm, funny, and interesting people and a buzz of good conversation fueled by great coffee and hot chocolate (among other tasty treats). Will is a welcoming host and our group of four (all first time visitors) was made to feel immediately at home. Lots of good games on offer (free to play) on the shelves of the gaming library, all of which are also for sale if you want to take any home. But honestly, it 's probably more fun to meet your friends at the store and play there. We brought our own game also encouraged but couldn 't help listening to the sophisticated adventure (a Stars Wars/D&D crossover) going on at the next...
A few weeks ago, we visited Iron Buffalo for a Yelp event. The owner, Will, was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the same goes for all the staff we met. While I was there, I bought a bag of coffee beans to enjoy at home. I prefer my coffee black—no cream, no sweeteners, and no extra flavorings; I believe it allows you to truly appreciate the coffee's taste. However, when I went to grind the beans, our grinder broke! I dropped by to grab some drinks and a bag of their house coffee beans. I had a lovely chat with Will, the owner, and took a moment to explore the game tables and the impressive selection of board games available. On my next visit, I plan to bring some friends along to enjoy some games and savor their delicious coffee drinks. They offer both hot and cold beverages, and there’s also a variety of other merchandise for sale. Be sure to stop by, take a look around, and don't forget to pick up a drink!
The ambiance is fantastic, and the service is excellent. They were very accommodating to my specific needs and circumstances, so you might receive a similar warm welcome. If you're shy about meeting new people, it's a good idea to bring your friends along. However, I’ve also enjoyed playing board games with strangers there!
The gaming area is great, featuring several tables. I haven't participated in any games yet, but I did stop by for a coffee. I tried the "Know Your Enemy" iced drink, and it was delicious! It had a sweet flavor, but not overwhelmingly so.
Seems like a great place for RPGs but the table space is a bit limited for other gaming. The cafe counter for drinks is a nice touch though!
The owner is friendly and inviting, making it a great place to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. It feels like a wonderful community spot.
