The dining area is bright and contemporary, with a smaller, dog-friendly covered patio. Everyone on staff was very friendly, and we even had the chance to meet the chef, who was eager to chat about the portobello sandwich I ordered. While the service was a bit slow—we were the only patrons on the patio at opening and had to retrieve our own silverware—it felt more like we were momentarily overlooked than anything else. We tried a flight of beers, which turned out to be our least favorite part of the meal. Most of the darker beers tasted quite thin, resulting in slight variations of a watery base. The staff at the restaurant is truly outstanding – they are kind and wonderful people. As for the drinks, they are great! Unfortunately, the food hasn't impressed us as much. We've visited the restaurant four times, hoping for a better experience each time. The standout item on the menu is definitely the tater tots, especially with the amazing beer cheese. We've also tried the pizza, chicken, and walleye, but I don’t know what it is… it's not "BAD" food, but some menu items just don’t seem worthy of a restaurant setting to me. With only three bar/restaurants in Maple Plain, I really want to like this place. I will likely give it another chance in the future, but I hesitate to spend that much...
Absolutely five stars! We stopped in for lunch while leaving town and were pleasantly surprised. The indoor bar area has plenty of seating and even a stage for live music. The outdoor patio is also really nice. Our server was excellent and provided us with several great recommendations. We tried a beer flight and a homemade dish. All the beers in the flight were delicious, but the Irish Red Nitro stood out as our favorite. We also ordered cheese curds that were the best I've ever tasted, followed by fish tacos and an amazing Italian sandwich. Everything was fantastic, and I can't wait to return to sample the pizzas and try more beers!
Very nice Tavern Brewery, the food was great and so was the service. It was a little slow when I got there, but keep in mind they just opened for the day, which also allowed me to get photos for posting. But it soon picked up for the lunch hour. I started with the Cauliflower app, mainly because it sounded interesting. I wasn't sure I would like it, but I actually loved it! Then I finished with the Steak Frittes, the fries were really good, perfectly salted, and my Hanger steak was cooked to perfection. We we're driving by for a ride out west and came across the Iron Exchange. The sign was what brought us in. It looked like a new fun spot to try. The food we had was excellent and they have great beer. The tavern is clean and just a overall nice chill experience. They also said most Friday and Saturday nights they have live music which also would definitely be fun to go back and check out. Glad we stopped in. Thanks for the great service!
Such a great place!! I love the drink variety (the berry mojito and watermelon juice drink with tequila added are delicious ? . We've come back 2x in the past month because this place is delicious!! The best deep dish pizza (we tried margarita and the meat lovers and both were superb and the lemon housemade gnocchi pasta dish is to die for!! Fantastic service as well.
Excellent Walleye dinner and very friendly service. Grateful my sister told me to go and try the Iron Exchange. I haven't tried their pizza yet, but I will be soon. Very nice place and highly recommend.
