Stopped in for a quick bite about 8pm just wanted to eat and get back on the road. Upon entering we were told that they were closing soon.... we could eat but they were just letting us know because some people want to sit and talk .... NOTE: they close at 9pm ..... we had an hour before close. Service was very quick .... because they wanted us out. As we ate the servers were busy cleaning the floors (I didn’t think they did this while you were eating). It was very obvious that they wanted everyone to eat and leave. We have been frequenting IRVING BIG STOPS for years, particularly enjoying their breakfasts. We would often pass by other restaurants in Moncton to save money for our meals in Enfield because convenience, cleanliness, quality, and price are important to us. However, during our visit last July, we were disappointed to find that the portion sizes had shrunk while the prices remained the same. The quality of the food was just average, and we were taken aback by the cheap napkins they now use. Despite the cleanliness, hot food, and pleasant atmosphere, the food at IRVING BIG STOPS is not as good as it used to be. We will continue to stop by, but the charm of the place has faded.
Cheryl was our server. She was very attentive and awesome. The restaurant was extremely busy and yet Cheryl still managed to make sure everyone was looked after! She was very friendly, and made my daughter feel like a “big girl” when she looked to her to order her own food! The food was great! I had the double bacon cheese burger with mashed and gravy. The hubby had the seafood platter, and the daughter had the chicken fingers with fries. Everything tasted awesome! Strawberry milkshakes were delicious as well. And then there’s the desserts. Not only is the selection huge and took us 5 solid minutes to decide which one we wanted you mean we can only have one each!?
I recently visited this restaurant and ordered a hamburger steak with a bread roll on the side. The gravy was too strong and salty, and the hamburger steak was very dry. The beef flavor was decent, but it seemed like they used lean ground beef which made it difficult to swallow. The bread roll, which used to be their signature item, was stale and past its prime. It seemed like they didn't take care of their bakery anymore. The service was great as always, but I would probably try other breakfast places that focus more on serving quality food to their customers.
Took family(6 people) for brunch. Not very busy lots of empty tables. Waited 10+ minutes to get seated. Waited another 10 or so minutes to get waited on. Waited 20+ minutes to get served. (except for drinks). Pancake order was so tough and rubbery that it could not be eaten. Veggie Omelet was extremely bad. More like a taco. Big breakfast (x2) OK. Remaining 2 were acceptable. I visit Big Stop 2-4 times a year and this has been by far the visit that makes me want to go elsewhere. Labour problems? New staff? Needs some quality control.
We order the senior special and it never disappoints. Friendly serves, should out to the beautiful Sheryl We are always served in a timely manner, our coffee topped of and good hot food. Family went there for both Christmas and New Year's dinners. Turkey was well cooked on Christmas. On New Years I asked if I could get the chicken stir fry with the vegetables well cooked as the trend today is half cooked vegetables. The waitress said I could and it was excellent.
There were 4 of us and ordered lots of different things from the menu. Bill was over &100. and everything was amazing!! Will go back again and again. Not like the one in the Valley. Never go there again.
This is the best restaurant form service to food that I have dined at. The only Big Stop is Enfield. I drive from Lower Sackville just to go there. Keep up the great work.
