This was our first visit since the restaurant's renovation. It seems they've only added space for two more tables, but the atmosphere remains as relaxing as ever. Unfortunately, we encountered two significant issues. They ran out of fish by 9 PM on a Saturday night! I ordered the Rasta Pasta with shrimp and chicken, and I was very clear—at least I thought I was—that I did NOT want mushrooms. When my dish arrived, it was served in a deep dish and, to my dismay, it was loaded with mushrooms. The food itself was tasty, but due to these missteps, we won't be returning. At the South Fulton location in Mt. Vernon, you'll find a food truck rather than a storefront. I want to give a shoutout to Ricardo, who served me two orders of jerk chicken that converted the people I brought it to into fans of Jamaican cuisine. I foresee new customers flocking your way! I’ve heard the goat curry is fantastic, but I haven’t tried it yet. The jerk chicken was tender, well-seasoned, and packed with flavor—definitely not the dry, fake stuff that other Jamaican places serve. Ricardo definitely deserves a bigger space. I hope you enjoy your first visit as much as I did!
I wish I had a picture to share, but I couldn't resist devouring the food. Let me tell you, this is top-notch soul food that leaves you satisfied and craving more. I will definitely be coming back many more times!
You'd never believe a Caribbean food truck could make such DELICIOUS FOODS!! Met my expectations and SOOO MUCH MORE!! The young lady was not only professional, she is a sweet and very friendly person as well.

Paid $22. for a stewfish dinner and got nothing but rice and a small piece of fish. I had so much rice left I used it for dinner, twice.
My first visit. J Chicken was dry and overcooked. The Cabbage was scant and had no seasoning.I may give them another try just to see.
I’ve had a lot of j chicken before this is by far my favorite in the Bronx. Reasonably priced and friendly staff.

it’s good, it’s not salty at all, it looks like they got a dread cooking, but the J Chicken is good food.
The pattie, fried chicken and porridge is good. They have early morning hours as well.
