Five stars hardly seems sufficient for this hidden gem in Stittsville. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and truly focused on providing excellent service. They use fresh, local ingredients for all their products. I stopped in for lunch and enjoyed a delicious sandwich on a large Portuguese roll, complete with all the toppings, for just $7. Their sausages are fantastic, and the quality of the meat is far superior to what you'd find in any of the big chain stores. While you'd expect to pay a premium for such quality and service, the prices are very reasonable—often even less than what you'd find at larger retailers. Can't say anything about the ready made food, since I never tried (I probably should! . But their meat is locally sourced, of highest quality and fairly priced. Great selection of self made sausages, too. Staff is always super friendly and helpful. You'll not be disappointed coming here to buy meat, whether it's for a bbq or the kitchen. Guaranteed!
Recently, I've been really enjoying Maria's ready-made frozen meals. To be honest, if I were faced with a choice between saving my wife, who was hanging from a cliff in one hand, and holding a portion of split pea and ham soup or beef stew in the other, it would be a tough decision!
