I waited for 30 minutes for my ice cream, only to be told that I had not placed an order. The waitress seemed confused and unprofessional, even asking me how the items were made as if I worked there. When the ice cream finally arrived, it was not made correctly and needed to be remade. To make matters worse, they poured strawberry sauce on top of my sundae and froze my brownies. I did not leave a tip and would not recommend this restaurant due to the childish and unprofessional staff. My overall experience was disappointing and I suggest offering refunds or positive reassurances to customers when mistakes are made. Having all the markings of a classic, down-to-earth restaurant, Ivanhoe's has a simple, diner-like setting that's comfortable to sit in and a delicious menu of sandwiches, salads, and sides that can never go wrong for you. And, most famously, its unique ice cream selection, along with an extensive sundae and shake menu will make you leave with a feeling like you've come back home like no other place has before. One must come to Ivanhoe's just once in their lives if they wish for Indiana life to treat them right.
Ivanhoes is a local and regional gem since 1965. Best ice cream parlor around. Ivanhoes offers an unbelievable 100 shakes options ... and 100 sundae options! Yes 100 and 100! Virtually anything you can imagine. They also serve some awesome burgers, sandwiches and salads. Be prepared for a wait. People come from everywhere to enjoy Ivanhoes so it is almost always packed with a wait. But it is worth the wait!
This restaurant is definitely worth the 700-mile motorcycle ride! I first visited back in the late 70s when I was attending Taylor University, and it's still just as delicious as I remembered.
I grew up with Ivanhoes, and while the building and people have changed, the atmosphere and food are still fantastic! I love coming back home and stopping by Ivanhoes.
During my first tennis season, our coach brought us to this restaurant and it was fantastic. I am looking forward to coming back to Ivanhoe's this season.
Super busy, food is usually phenomenal but I think it's lacking from being understaffed. Still a great place to eat dinner and then have a treat!
Can't go wrong with any ice cream choices. But be prepared for a long wait for your food.
