We were recommended to visit this restaurant, but were surprised to find out that they closed at 8:00. Arriving around 7:18, we were disappointed to receive no greeting or acknowledgement from the three staff members in the store. It was our first time there and we were unsure if we were supposed to order at our table or at the cash register. There were no signs to guide us. After waiting for 15 minutes, we finally had to flag someone down to ask how to proceed. We were met with a rude response, being told we had to order quickly as they were closing at 8. The lack of hospitality and abrupt interactions left a negative impression on us. We decided to leave and enjoy a delicious Chinese meal...
About Uber Eats ordered. Food was an hour late and cold (no driver's fault). Flavor was subpar? Chicharrón and beans had no season. I thought Sazon and Sofrito were given in a Hispanic kitchen. I didn't eat my wife, but she wasn't impressed either. To complete it, they forgot my extra side of the beans I paid. I was told I'd call her the next time. Note: Unfortunately, I was confused with the Uber Eats app and ended the restaurant 20% instead of the driver. When I realized my mistake, I then tapped the driver 15%. The whole order cost me over $70 for a taste of @ss food. To my knowledge, this is the only restaurant in the area. Please correct me if I'm wrong, I'm looking for a better option.
I?ve been coming to Izla since I was about 15 years old? I am currently 19 and have never had such an awful experience in this restaurant. This place used to be upbeat, clean, and the food was tasty. The place yesterday was filthy, pictures added show that they don?t clean their bathroom. I was very disgusted and can only imagine how everything else is upkept. Coming from someone who works in food service, you don?t serve customers on paper plates with plastic utensils on a kids tray. Not hospitable, but the staff isn?t bad. Food doesn?t taste the same at all. I really would recommend going to a authentic Puerto Rican spot instead of here folks.
I would have given a 5-star rating for the taste of the food. The flavor and temperature were perfect. However, there were two minor issues: 1. The Flan was not packaged properly and all the syrup leaked out in the bag. The Flan tasted delicious but would have been even better with the syrup on top. 2. The Ropa Vieja was actually Carne Guisada (Beef Stew), not Ropa Vieja as listed on the menu. Despite this, the taste was still fantastic and I enjoyed it. I recently enjoyed a very delicious Cuban sandwich at this restaurant. This was my second time ordering it. The sandwich had crispy bread on the outside, filled with garlic roasted pork, pickles, Swiss cheese, and ham, which made for a flavorful combination. However, I would have preferred if the meat was hotter. The black beans seemed to be undercooked as they were not partially dissolved. Additionally, the sweet potatoes or yams were overly sweet for my liking. Overall, it was a good meal.
Food was absolutely delicious and delivered within a decent time though I expected it sooner given that I don?t live that far. The cuban sandwich was really awesome though some parts were soggy because it was drenched in the green sauce (maybe recaito? which was very greasy. The pernil with my mofongo was pretty good but the plantains were very hard and dry. My husband?s favorite thing was the yuca fries. All in all, I think we?ll give them another try.
Delicious food, service can be a bit slow and I don?t get why we get to go containers when we were eating in? Had their empanadas/pastelitos before and they were great, but this time they were not it, they were made of some weird yellow cheese, I had them with mozzarella before and they were great. That was the only bad thing. Place is clean, they have a lot of options and like I said food is very good.
IZLA restaurant took me back to my childhood! If you're in the mood for mofongo, alcapurrias, rellenos, rice and beans, this is the spot to be! The flavors are amazing and the portions are generous. I highly recommend it! Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
