We stopped in at Izzy's on Victoria Day Monday (approx. 1pm), for a quick lunch, hoping to avoid the crowds gathered at the Big Apple. There were two couples ahead of us in line and a few people standing around waiting for their food. We ordered two hot dogs, a medium fry, and a small poutine. The lady at the window advised us it would be about a 10 to 15 minute wait. Unfortunately she severely underestimated -- we waited 45 minutes for our food. There didn't seem to be much organization in their system, as the family that had ordered after us received their three hamburgers and fries before we did. Orders were coming out maybe once every 5 minutes. Not what one would expect of a chip truck....
Best food truck for miles! Staff are always friendly. Food is sooo good! Everything from hotdogs, poutine, fries, peameal on a bun, and the list goes on. Prices are very reasonable. :) My last visit was in the fall. I had been working outside all day and didn't even think about cooking dinner. I drove to the truck, she was closing up but had no problem firing up the grill to make burgers for myself and my husband. I don't think that I have ever experienced that kind of service anywhere else before.
Now, I will let you in on a little secret of a gem, along the highway. As you are travelling between Belleville and Cobourg. There is this little spot, as you exit #497, head south just after the overpass and turn East. Tucked away around the corner from the stop light is Izzy's Spud Mobile. Fresh Cut fries, and Homemade burger plus new items for the summer.
Oh my gosh. I am not a burger person so I decided to try their veggie burger and wow. Completely blown away by how amazing it was. Very flavourful with red pepper! Delicious. I would totally recommended pairing this with the poutine. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Definitely a great addition to the town of Colborne .. Was much needed, especially the great quality food and amazing service they offer. I am a regular there, living a ten minute drive away. Very nice to have around ????
