We are visiting from out of town and chose Ja Kum Sung based on Yelp reviews, and everyone in our group was very happy with our choice. I’m from Northern New Jersey, where there’s a significant Korean community and many Korean restaurants. The food and atmosphere at Ja Kum Sung are reminiscent of those local spots, as well as the restaurants I’ve dined at in Korea. I have been to many AUTHENTIC korean restaurants, and this has been the worst! many of the foods lacked flavor and their side-dishes were underwhelming. The portion of side dishes were also little considering it was to be shared by two people. The quality of the side-dishes were also bland. My husband and I ordered Jjajamyeong and budae jjigae, both lacked in flavor. The vegetables in the budae jjigae also seemed old. Considering the total to come out to $56, not worth it! We also ordered makkoli, which we had to remind them to bring and the cup they didn’t bring out a proper makkoli cup.
Overall a good experience. Came by because of the good reviews, but this place has been a Korean-style Chinese food restaurant since the 1980?s (different ownership, obviously), but it now serves Korean food as well. For those unfamiliar, Korean-style Chinese food is different from American-style Chinese food. Korean-style is less greasy and more flavorful and definitely better for your health in terms of having less fat and sugar, and the ?hot? spices are Korean-based

Prepare to shell out $17 for food that tastes mass-produced, featuring processed meats and noodles. I went out with a group of friends, and the cashier was persistently pressuring us for tips above $3. They didn't relent until each of us handed over $7 or more in tips. It was quite tacky; the restaurant itself is very old and in disrepair, and the servers were extremely impatient and unprofessional. I recommend steering clear of this place!

I highly recommend trying the Pork Hot Stone Bibimbap, Jjamppong Soup, and the Seafood dishes. Each offers a delightful burst of flavor that enhances the overall dining experience. The service is outstanding, making you feel welcomed and well taken care of. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, perfect for enjoying a lovely dinner.
Pretty good Korean place. The food was above average and the service was mostly good. There were two waitresses serving us; the older lady was phenomenal. The younger one? Not so much. We were seated in the back room at a table with a plastic happy birthday table cloth they couldn 't be bothered to remove before we were seated. If you 're seated in the front of the restaurant, it 's a much better experience/atmosphere. Food: 4
They deserve a 10 star review! We have never been to this place before. Saw a lot of good reviews, so we gave them a try. Everything was excellent food and service! Food was very flavorful and they have a variety of options on the menu. Love everything that we ordered and will definitely go back as well as recommend this place to everyone.
