I am puertorrican, 100%!! I'm very special about my food. I've tried pastels and galleys in various places not to like it. BUT this place puertorrican food was DELICIOSA!! The mascara for the pastels was a lot of meat, the Ganules rice was very good, but I can count the galls with my fingers. I wish it had more grain. The Bacalau salad was good, but the Bacalau was lost with the salad. I had expected a side of Bacalau. I know Bacalau is expensive!! And the Mac Salat Ono!! Cozy little restaurant that will run out of tables during busy times. Good service we were out of sight of the server but she checked in and offered water frequently. Portion sizes are reasonable for the price. Everything ordered (combo plate, kalua pig) was tasty. I ate the haupia in 3 bites; but was good. If you like poi I recommend going with the large serving I wished I had two of the little bowls of regular sized poi. Would go back for a casual meal next time I'm craving Hawaiian plate lunch.
I love this place! My parents used to take us when we were keiki. When I moved away from home it was the worst, I missed the food and that one waitress who's been there since forever, she was always so nice and always had the biggest smile! I recently went back, and everything was exactly the same, the food was still great as always, and aunty was still waiting tables. I love this place and I always look forward to going back!
Delicious! The pastels and Aroz con gandules were soooo good! Very authentic tasting and affordable. Very recommended for those who love Puerto Rican food.
